COVID-19 shocked the education system, disrupting the policies and practices of special education over multiple school years. This essay brings together the institutional logics perspective and racialized organization theory to first examine aspects of special education and then describe how leaders and teachers can improve special education to target inequities. We illustrate features of three logics of special education: compliance, intervention, and equity. We explain how these logics are racialized structures in the special education field. Applying an agentic stance, we portray how leaders and teachers draw on multiple, competing logics of special education. Next, we highlight how infrastructure enables leaders and teachers to enact the equity model of special education. In sum, this essay encourages improving infrastructural elements and confronting racism and ableism to re-envision special education in the face of COVID-disruptions.

Objective: This study presents a novel digital interproximal enamel reduction (IER) clinical procedure, aiming to improve the effectiveness of IER processes in orthodontic treatment.
Methods: A malocclusion case of skeletal-class I and angle-class I was selected for the experimental investigation. A three-dimensional (3D) model of the dentition was constructed using scanning data from a plaster model.

Background: Booklice, belonging to the genus Liposcelis (Psocodea: Liposcelididae), commonly known as psocids, infest a wide range of stored products and are implicated in the transmission of harmful microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria. The olfactory system is critical for insect feeding and reproduction. Elucidating the molecular mechanisms of the olfactory system in booklice is crucial for developing effective control strategies.

Allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells targeting disialoganglioside-GD2 (ALLO_GD2-CART01) could be a therapeutic option for patients with relapsed or refractory, high-risk neuroblastoma (r/r HR-NB) whose tumors did not respond to autologous GD2-CART01 or who have profound lymphopenia. We present a case series of five children with HR-NB refractory to more than three different lines of therapy who received ALLO_GD2-CART01 in a hospital exemption setting. Four of them had previously received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Although race is socially constructed, racism and racialization are social determinants of health. Over four centuries of colonial genocide and structural violence against Indigenous and Black peoples in Canada have resulted in intergeneration traumas and health disparities among Indigenous and Black people, sustained by ongoing social, political, and economic inequities. Evidence indicates the impact of contemporary and historical forms of racism on health outcomes.

The mentally and physically challenging 19-20 day, multi-stressor US Army Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS) course selects soldiers for Army Special Forces (SF) training. If selected, candidates enroll for advanced training in the 2-year Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC) to qualify for the SF. This longitudinal study examined physiological, psychological, and nutritional status of soldiers before (pre-SFAS) and after SFAS (post-SFAS), and post-SFQC, to identify predictors of graduation from SFQC.
