Background: Pleural neoplasms are rare and can be subdivided into pleural metastasis and primary pleural neoplasms. Non-mesothelioma primary pleural neoplasms are a diverse group of extremely rare pathologies.
Case Presentation: In this case series, we describe the presentation and management of two rare primary pleural neoplasms. A first case describes a primary pleural yolk sac tumor treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, extended pleurectomy decortication, and hyperthermic intrathoracic chemotherapy. In a second case we describe the management of a primary pleural synovial sarcoma by neoadjuvant chemotherapy and extrapleural pneumonectomy. A complete resection was obtained in both cases and the post-operative course was uncomplicated. No signs of tumor recurrence were noted during follow-up in the first patient. In the second patient a local recurrence was diagnosed 6 months after surgery.
Conclusion: Neo-adjuvant chemotherapy followed by extensive thoracic surgery, including hyperthermic intrathoracic chemotherapy, is a feasible treatment strategy for non-mesothelioma primary pleural neoplasms, but careful follow-up is required.

Although immune checkpoint inhibitors have changed the treatment paradigm for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), not all patients benefit from them. Therefore, there is an urgent need to explore novel immune checkpoint inhibitors. Neuropilin-1 (Nrp-1) is a unique immune checkpoint capable of exerting antitumor effects through CD8 T cells.

While the latest WHO classification of hematological neoplasms helps refine the diagnostic criteria for anaplastic large cell lymphomas (ALCL), their diagnosis can still be challenging. This retrospective series of 10 ALCL cases illustrates the cytological appearance and immunological profile obtained through flow cytometry (FCM) from various sample types, including lymph node biopsies (LN), peripheral blood (PB), cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), and pleural fluid (PF). ALCL exhibits a polymorphic cytological appearance, ranging from "doughnut" cells to Hodgkin-like cells, very large cells, and small cells, with this polymorphism being particularly pronounced in ALK (-) forms.

Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a rare form of thoracic malignancy with a poor prognosis. Pleural effusion (PE) occurs in the majority of patients with MPM; however, its impact on MPM outcomes remains controversial. We searched for eligible patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database, and clinicopathological information and outcomes were collected.

Cancers of the mesothelium, such as malignant mesothelioma (MM), historically have been attributed solely to exposure to asbestos. Recent large scale genetic and genomic functional studies now show that approximately 20% of all human mesotheliomas are causally linked to highly penetrant inherited (germline) pathogenic mutations in numerous cancer related genes. The rarity of these mutations in humans makes it difficult to perform statistically conclusive genetic studies to understand their biological effects.

Background: Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) is an uncommon vascular malignancy characterized by an unpredictable clinical course and a high potential for recurrence and metastasis. The lack of standard treatment guidelines, coupled with the tumor's inconsistent response to available treatments, complicates the management of EHE and leads to widely varying patient prognoses.
Case Presentation: We report two cases of EHE with distinct presentations reflecting the site of involvement.
