AI Article Synopsis

Article Abstract

Methodology: An electronic search was done in PUBMED, SCOPUS, and a hand search was done in radiology, periodontology, and oral surgery journals. The search yielded 428 results, from which only 6 articles were selected for this literature review. Both prospective and retrospective studies were included. Clinical studies with information on the pre-implant condition of the site, detailed implant procedure, and follow-up after implant placement of more than 6 months were only considered for this review.

Results And Conclusion: Limited clinical studies, shorter follow-up periods were the shortcomings of this review. However, it can be summarized that dental implants should not be placed at the site of FCOD, however can be placed at adjacent sites. Variations in implant type or the implant length had no bearing on the survival of implants at the sites of FCOD.

Background: Accurate component placement plays a critical role in the outcome of total hip arthroplasty (THA). Robotic-assisted THA (R-THA) has emerged as an option to optimize this aspect compared to the conventional manual THA (C-THA). The aim of this meta-analysis was to analyze the studies comparing R-THA and C-THA.

Real-time surgical navigation systems (dynamic computer-aided surgery, d-CAIS) and static guided surgery (static computer-aided surgery, s-CAIS) have been shown to enhance the accuracy of zygomatic implant (ZI) placement. The objective of this systematic review was to evaluate and compare the accuracy and risk of complications associated with d-CAIS and s-CAIS in ZI placement. A systematic review of published studies involving more than 4 patients was conducted to assess and compare the accuracy of d-CAIS and s-CAIS in zygomatic implant placement.

Management of adverse effects following additively manufactured subperiosteal jaw implantation in the maxilla.

J Stomatol Oral Maxillofac Surg

Face Ahead® Surgicenter, Belgium and Ziekenhuis aan de Stroom, Campus GZA, B-2018, Antwerp, Belgium. Electronic address:

Objective: This expert opinion presents provisional guidelines for addressing complications associated with Additively Manufactured Subperiosteal Jaw Implants (AMSJI®) in patients with severe maxillary atrophy. AMSJI®'s custom design, supported by finite element analysis (FEA), allows precise placement that avoids critical anatomical structures and minimizes complications relative to alternative solutions.

Materials And Methods: Data were gathered through firsthand experiences, direct communications, and insights from international workgroup meetings.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the impact of the pathogen's sensitivity to the loaded antibiotics on infection resolution, the number of revisions, and the associated costs in patients undergoing revision total knee arthroplasty (rTKA) due to PJI.

Material And Methods: We reviewed the treatment and follow-up processes of 61 patients who underwent rTKA for late-stage PJI following primary total knee arthroplasty in our clinic. The study included 11 patients in the resistant group and 50 in the sensitive group in line with the power analysis results.

Objectives: Clinical data on the performance of double-crown-retained removable dental prostheses (dcRDPs), especially beyond university studies, are rare. The objective of this retrospective clinical study was to evaluate the survival and complication-freeness probabilities of dcRDPs and to identify risk factors for failure and complications in a dental practice setting.

Materials And Methods: Anonymized practice data of 174 patients (56.
