In this paper, LaCeO powders co-activated by Ho and Yb were synthesized by a high temperature solid-state reaction. Both Ho and Yb substitute the La sites in the LaCeO lattice, where the Ho concentration is 0.5 at.% and the Yb concentration varies in the range of 10~18% at.%. Pumped by a 980 nm laser, the up-conversion (UC) green emission peak at 547 nm and the red emission at 661 nm were detected. When the doping concentration of Ho and Yb are 0.5 at.% and 14% at.%, respectively, the UC emission reaches the strongest intensity. The temperature-sensing performance of LaCeO:Ho with Yb was studied in the temperature range of 303-483 K, where the highest relative sensitivity (S) is 0.0129 K at 483 K. The results show that the powder LaCeO:Ho, Yb can be a potential candidate for remote temperature sensors.

Research on multifunctional luminous materials has garnered a lot of interest in the fields of optical sensing, biological imaging, white light-emitting diodes illumination, etc. A novel multifunctional phosphor of Pr-doped BiMoO (BMO: Pr), created via the solid-state method, was investigated in this work. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectra, and fluorescence decay curves were employed to analyze the produced phosphors.

Fluorescence thermometry based on metal halide perovskites is increasingly becoming a hotspot due to its advantages of high detection sensitivity, noninvasiveness, and fast response time. However, it still presents certain technical challenges in practical applications, such as complex synthesis methods, the use of toxic solvents, and being currently mainly based on the visible/first near-infrared light with poor penetration and severe autofluorescence. In this study, we synthesize the second near-infrared (NIR-II) luminescent crystals based on Yb/Nd-doped zero-dimensional CsScCl·HO by a simple "dissolve-dry" method.

NO is a toxic gas that can damage the lungs with prolonged exposure and contribute to health conditions, such as asthma in children. Detecting NO is therefore crucial for maintaining a healthy environment. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are promising materials for NO gas sensors due to their excellent electronic properties and high adsorption energy for NO molecules.
