The ternary complex effectively prevents droplet aggregation, Ostwald ripening, and phase separation through its gel network, thereby demonstrating its capability in bioactive compound delivery. In this work, the influence of varying chickpea protein isolate (CPI) levels on the microstructure, gel characteristics, stability and functional properties of grape seed proanthocyanidin (GSP) and konjac gum (KGM) stabilized ternary complexes was investigated. Visual appearance indicated the formation of a non-stratified ternary complex as the CPI enhanced to 3-4 %.

Ultrasonic-Assisted Synthesis and Cytocompatibility Assessment of TiO/SiO Nanoparticles-Impregnated Gum Arabic Nanocomposite: Edible Coating of Dates for Shelf-Life Extension.

Polymers (Basel)

January 2025

Nanobiotechnology and Molecular Biology Research Laboratory, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, College of Food Science and Agriculture, King Saud University, Riyadh P.O. Box 2460, Saudi Arabia.

The post-harvest management of fruit is crucial to preventing its decay and loss. Generally, edible coatings are applied to fruit to avoid decay and microbial contamination. We have used ultrasonication to synthesize TiO and residue-derived biosilica embedded in gum arabic nanocomposite.

To address the challenges of missed detections caused by insufficient shape and texture features and blurred boundaries in existing detection methods, this paper introduces a novel moving vehicle detection approach for satellite videos. The proposed method leverages frame difference and convolution to effectively integrate spatiotemporal information. First, a frame difference module (FDM) is designed, combining frame difference and convolution.

Extending sardine shelf life while maintaining their quality is challenging even with non-thermal technologies like high-pressure processing (HPP). This study examines the effects of HPP at 400 and 600 MPa for holding times of 1, 2.5, 5, and 10 min on fresh sardines during 14 days of cold storage.
