Background: Rupture of extensor pollicis longus tendon (EPL) is a known complication following a distal radius fracture (DRF). Although the precise mechanisms behind these ruptures remain unclear, vascular impairment is thought to play a significant role. Additionally, the impact of an EPL rupture on microstructure of the tendon and muscle is not well understood, but such information could be important in guiding treatment strategies.

Introduction/aims: Immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) is an autoimmune myopathy. We aimed to compare clinical outcomes in patients with antibodies against 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (HMGCR) treated on immunotherapy regimens with and without maintenance intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG). The secondary aim was to assess outcomes in a subset that received IVIG monotherapy.

Foreign body reaction (FBR), an immune-mediated complex healing process, plays a crucial role in integrating implants into the body. Macrophages, as the first line of immune system interaction with implant surfaces, play a bidirectional role in modulating the inflammation-regeneration balance. For a deep understanding and the evaluation of the reactions between implant materials and immune responses, reliable in vitro methods and protocols are pivotal.

Background: Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) is a necrotizing small-vessel vasculitis associated with antineutrophilic cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCAs). GPA can have multisystem involvement; however, central nervous system (CNS) manifestations are uncommon. Here, for this first time, we report a rare case of GPA with both ischemic and hemorrhagic CNS involvement.
