To develop and validate a dose-of-the-day (DOTD) treatment plan verification procedure for liver and pancreas cancer patients treated with an magnetic resonance (MR)-Linac system.DOTD was implemented as an automated process that uses 3D datasets collected during treatment delivery. Particularly, the DOTD pipeline's input included the adapt-to-shape (ATS) plan-i.

Purpose: Differences in the contours created during magnetic resonance imaging-guided online adaptive radiotherapy (MRgOART) affect dose distribution. This study evaluated the interobserver error in delineating the organs at risk (OARs) in patients with pancreatic cancer treated with MRgOART. Moreover, we explored the effectiveness of drugs that could suppress peristalsis in restraining intra-fractional motion by evaluating OAR visualization in multiple patients.

Background: This study examined the differences in late gastrointestinal (GI) toxicities in moderately hypofractionated intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for locally advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (LA-PDAC) by changing the planning organs at risk volume (PRV) margin and the target matching method and assessed the causes of adverse events.

Methods: We examined 37 patients with LA-PDAC who underwent moderately hypofractionated IMRT between 2016 and 2020 at our institution; 23 patients were treated with wide PRV margins and soft tissue matching (Protocol A) and 14 with narrow PRV margins and fiducial marker matching (Protocol B). The GI toxicities, local control (LC) rate, and overall survival (OS) were assessed for each protocol.

Diagnostic role of fractional exhaled nitric oxide in pediatric eosinophilic esophagitis, relationship with gastric and duodenal eosinophils.

Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Midwest Pediatric Specialists, Overland Park, Kansas, KS 66215, United States.

Background: Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is an eosinophilic-predominant inflammation of the esophagus diagnosed by upper endoscopy and biopsies. A non-invasive and cost-effective alternative for management of EoE is being researched. Previous studies assessing utility of fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) in EoE were low powered.
