Recognizing the need for a concise self-report measure of mentalizing capacity, we developed a 12-item iteration of the well-established Mentalization Scale (MentS). Using college student and community samples of Serbian adults ( = 566), we performed a precise selection of items and then examined the psychometric attributes of the shortened scale (MentS-12). The new scale maintains the original three-dimensional structure: self-related mentalization, other-related mentalization, and motivation to mentalize. MentS-12 proves to be both reliable and structurally consistent. To improve its utility in therapeutic contexts, we determined clinical change thresholds for both the complete and abbreviated forms. We hope that its feasibility stimulates the integration of the MentS-12 in longitudinal research projects and real-world clinical settings.

Dynamic switching between brain networks predicts creative ability.

Department of Psychology, Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania, USA.

Creativity is hypothesized to arise from a mental state which balances spontaneous thought and cognitive control, corresponding to functional connectivity between the brain's Default Mode (DMN) and Executive Control (ECN) Networks. Here, we conduct a large-scale, multi-center examination of this hypothesis. Employing a meta-analytic network neuroscience approach, we analyze resting-state fMRI and creative task performance across 10 independent samples from Austria, Canada, China, Japan, and the United States (N = 2433)-constituting the largest and most ethnically diverse creativity neuroscience study to date.

Background: The multi-day Boston Remote Assessment of Neurocognitive Health (BRANCH) is a remote, web-based assessment designed to capture the earliest cognitive changes in the preclinical stage of Alzheimer's disease (AD). It has been validated in unimpaired older adults, but as individuals progress on the AD continuum, assessments need to remain feasible and valid at different clinical stages. The focus of this study was to assess feasibility and validity of multi-day BRANCH in participants with and without cognitive impairment.

Background: Health care workers (HCW) with post-COVID condition (PCC) are frequently reported to suffer from mental health impairment. Given HCW above-average risk for mental health, research is necessary and risk factors need to be assessed.

Aim: To compare mental health and health of German HCW with and without PCC and to identify associated psychological and social factors.
