•Primary peritoneal clear cell carcinoma can arise from endometriotic implants within the abdomen and pelvis.•Immunohistochemistry can be used to confirm primary disease site. Endometriotic origin can be inferred based on clinical history and intraoperative findings suggestive of endometriosis.•While no standardized treatment exists, consideration should be given to cytoreductive surgery with adjuvant chemotherapy. Adjuvant radiation can also be considered for local control.

Toxoplasmal meningoencephalitis is a sporadic condition that is often misdiagnosed antemortem, frequently resulting in euthanasia especially in resource-limited settings. Here we report a case of a 7-week-old female domestic shorthair cat from an animal shelter who presented in a compromised condition and continued to display clinical signs consistent with a "failure to thrive" kitten. Weight loss and decreased activity were observed, and later on, neurological dysfunction became apparent.

Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) exhibits a unique mode of metastasis, involving spheroid formation in the peritoneum. Our research on EOC spheroid cell biology has provided valuable insights into the signaling plasticity associated with metastasis. We speculate that EOC cells modify their biology between tumour and spheroid states during cancer dormancy, although the specific mechanisms underlying this transition remain unknown.

Synergistic antimicrobial efficacy of glabrol and colistin through micelle-based co-delivery against multidrug-resistant bacterial pathogens.

Phytomedicine

February 2025

Animal-Derived Food Safety Innovation Team, College of Animal Science and Technology, Anhui Agricultural University, Hefei 230036, PR China. Electronic address:

Background: Widespread bacterial infection and the spread of multidrug resistance (MDR) exhibit increasing threats to the public and thus require new antibacterial strategies. Coupled with the current slow pace of antibiotic development, the use of antibiotic adjuvants to revitalize existing antibiotics offers great potential.

Purpose: We aim to explore the synergistic antimicrobial mechanism of glabrol (GLA) and colistin (COL) while developing an innovative multifunctional micelle-based drug delivery system to enhance therapeutic efficacy.
