Education is key in preparing healthcare professionals for the current and future needs of the clinical environment. Hence, ESTRO facilitated a workshop, with a track focusing on radiation therapists' (RTT) education and whether it is fit for the current demands of RTTs. An international group of participants with academic and clinical backgrounds discussed the current situation in their respective working environments, evaluated the challenges in RTT education, and highlighted opportunities and possible solutions to meet current and future needs. Key outcomes highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between clinical and academic staff.

Introduction: The clinical, research and advocacy communities for Rett syndrome are striving to achieve clinical trial readiness, including having fit-for-purpose clinical outcome assessments. This study aimed to (1) describe psychometric properties of clinical outcome assessment for Rett syndrome and (2) identify what is needed to ensure that fit-for-purpose clinical outcome assessments are available for clinical trials.
Methods: Clinical outcome assessments for the top 10 priority domains identified in the Voice of the Patient Report for Rett syndrome were compiled and available psychometric data were extracted.

Purpose: This study reports on the current status of Radiation Therapist (RTT) education and training globally. RTTs are the health professionals responsible for the preparation and delivery of courses of radiation therapy, the latter being indicated in the management of 50%-60% of patients with cancer globally. In the changing global landscape, education programs for radiation therapists (RTTs), also known as therapeutic radiographers or radiation therapy technologists, at higher education institutions (HEIs) are non-existent in many African countries. In countries with local RTT education programs, there is evidence of a wide variety of qualification types, including in-house training, diploma and degree offerings. However, what is consistent is the integrated curriculum approach to classroom theory and clinical work-based learning that across the continent follows the general structure of a work-integrated learning (WIL) approach, to enhance clinical competence and meet the needs of the health sector.
