Vibrational fingerprints and combination bands are a direct measure of couplings that control molecular properties. However, most combination bands possess small transition dipoles. Here we use multiple, ultrafast coherent infrared pulses to resolve vibrational coupling between CHCN fingerprint modes at 918 and 1039 cm and combination bands in the 2750-6100 cm region via doubly vibrationally enhanced (DOVE) coherent multidimensional spectroscopy (CMDS). This approach provides a direct probe of vibrational coupling between fingerprint modes and near-infrared combination bands of large and small transition dipoles in a molecular system over a large frequency range.

Assessing the contamination of paper and board (P&B) food packaging materials poses significant challenges due to the sensitivity limits of analytical methods and the low precision of sampling processes. This study aims to enhance the understanding of P&B food packaging contamination by investigating the distribution of contaminants at different scales using a combination of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. A total of 36 substances were targeted, including phthalates, photoinitiators, and bisphenol A.

The study of transient and variable events, including novae, active galactic nuclei, and black hole binaries, has historically been a fruitful path for elucidating the evolutionary mechanisms of our universe. The study of such events in the millimeter and submillimeter is, however, still in its infancy. Submillimeter observations probe a variety of materials, such as optically thick dust, which are hard to study in other wavelengths.

Tidal flat ecosystems, are under steady decline due to anthropogenic pressures including sea level rise and climate change. Monitoring and managing these coastal systems requires accurate and up-to-date mapping. Sediment characteristics and macrozoobenthos are major indicators of the environmental status of tidal flats.

Adding value to food by-products, such as pumpkin seeds, is an important strategy for the complete utilization of plant foods and advancing sustainability goals. This study aimed to maximize the production of bioactive peptides from pumpkin seed protein (PSP) by combining ultrasonic (US) pretreatment (40 kHz, 23.8 W/L) with enzymatic hydrolysis.

The study presents two imported malaria cases with a history of travel to malaria-endemic areas and replied late response to treatment. In the blood preparations of the first case, dot-shaped nucleus structures were identified in the erythrocytes, which looked different from the classical erythrocytic forms. In the SD-Pf/Pan test, bands were obtained for both P.
