Polysaccharides from wood-rooting fungi have attracted attention due to their broad pharmacological properties. Herein, we report the antitumor and immunomodulatory activities of acid polysaccharides isolated from fungi The polysaccharide extracts displayed significant antiproliferative activity against cancer cell lines (MCF-7, HCT-116, U-937) in a dose-dependent manner and induction of IL-6 in macrophage RAW 264.7. Furthermore, flow cytometry analysis showed that high polysaccharide concentrations induced apoptosis by 83% in HL-60 cells. Based on gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and Fourier transform infra-red (FT-IR) spectroscopy studies, acidic polysaccharides from were mainly composed of arabinose, α-D-galactopyranose and methyl β-D-galactopyranoside.

RNA interference (RNAi) and oxidative stress inhibition therapeutic strategies have been extensively utilized in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA), the most prevalent degenerative joint disease. However, the synergistic effects of these approaches on attenuating OA progression remain largely unexplored. In this study, matrix metalloproteinase-13 siRNA (siMMP-13) was incorporated onto polyethylenimine (PEI)-polyethylene glycol (PEG) modified FeO nanoparticles, forming a nucleic acid nanocarrier termed si-Fe NPs.

Emulsions play an important role in food systems by encapsulating and delivering active compounds, but maintaining their stability under various conditions can be challenging. This study explored how the concentrations of Tremella polysaccharides (TPs) (0-0.75 %) affects the structural of whey protein isolate (WPI) and the stability of their emulsions at pH 4.

Pentraxin-3 (PTX3) is an octameric protein, comprised of eight identical protomers, that has diverse functions in reproductive biology, innate immunity and cancer. PTX3 interacts with the large polysaccharide hyaluronan (HA) to which heavy chains (HCs) of the inter-α-inhibitor (IαI) family of proteoglycans are covalently attached, playing a key role in the (non-covalent) crosslinking of HC•HA complexes. These interactions stabilise the cumulus matrix, essential for ovulation and fertilisation in mammals, and are also implicated in the formation of pathogenic matrices in the context of viral lung infections.

In recent years, it was found that lysine malonylation modification can affect biological metabolism and play an important role in plant life activities. Platycodon grandiflorus, an economic crop and medicinal plant, had no reports on malonylation in the related literature. This study qualitatively introduces lysine malonylation in P.
