Background: Simulations are an important modality for practicing high-acuity, low-frequency events. We implemented a deliberate practice simulation-based workshop to improve pediatric end-of-life care skills (PECS) competence.
Purpose: To understand pediatric subspecialty fellows' perceptions about influences of a simulation-based workshop on PECS provided at the bedside several months following participation.
Methods: Pediatric subspecialty fellows were recruited to voluntary focus groups during regular educational sessions six months following PECS workshop participation with aims to identify perceptions about their workshop participation and any implication on their clinical practice. Inductive qualitative content analysis of focus group interview data was performed adhering to the Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research.
Results: Ten fellows participated in one of three focus groups. Researchers identified three major themes of fellow experience: burden, safe practice space, and self-efficacy. Fellows described practice implications from workshop participation, including incorporation of specific practices, improved anticipatory guidance, and increased team leader confidence.
Conclusions: Targeted, deliberate simulation-based practice of PECS can help close the gap from learning to practice, contributing to provider self-efficacy and potentially improving clinical care for pediatric patients and families at end of life.

Background: Iterative design and modification are used to manufacture lower limb prosthetic sockets that meet users' needs while also fulfilling safety and mobility criteria. Greater understanding of the expectations of prosthesis users regarding prosthetic fit as well as their experiences at the time of socket fitting is needed.
Objectives: Describe lower limb prosthesis user perceptions and experiences of socket comfort and discomfort during their last fitting and compare this to their expectations for a perfectly fitting socket and their satisfaction with the socket they had fitted.
Introduction: Preceptors are crucial in the education of physician assistant (PA) students, yet many lack formal preceptor training. The aim of this scoping review was to describe the curriculum and design of existing preceptor training programs for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and physicians.
Methods: This scoping review was developed following the methodologic framework provided by the Joanna Briggs Institute.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a debilitating neurodegenerative illness that has become a growing concern for older adults. As such, apolipoprotein E (APOE) genetic testing has become more commonly used to identify individuals' susceptibility to AD. An underrepresented population in AD research, Latinos will be disproportionately affected by AD in the coming decades.
Objectives: To determine ADHD research priorities from the perspective of ADHD professionals internationally.
Method: A two-stage modified Delphi design was used. In Stage 1 (qualitative), participants listed research questions relating to ADHD that they perceived to be most important ( = 132).
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a major global health concern, affecting maternal and child health. Although genetic predispositions and individual medical histories are well-recognized risk factors, emerging research suggests a significant impact of external factors like neighborhood socioeconomic characteristics. This study systematically reviews and meta-analyzes the association between neighborhood deprivation and GDM incidence.
