Background: Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is the preferred treatment for large renal stones, yet variability in outcomes arises from patient-specific factors and institutional practices. Understanding complications and predictors of success is essential to improving procedural efficacy.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate stone clearance rates, complications classified using the Clavien-Dindo system, and predictors of PCNL outcomes, with a focus on improving lower calyx stone clearance.

The correct choice of a stone aggregate for railway ballast is directly related to the stability, safety, efficiency, and maintenance costs of the track. The aggregate must meet several criteria to ensure it is the most appropriate material. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate four distinct stones: two granites, a diabase, and a basalt, all mined in the eastern region of the state of São Paulo, Brazil, regarding their applicability as ballast.

Background: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has become the gold standard management for patients who present with common bile duct stone (CBDS). Although laparoscopic cholecystectomy is generally recommended for patients who have CBDS clearance, there is still a significant proportion of patients who are managed expectantly. Our study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of expectant management (EM) versus prophylactic cholecystectomy after initial endoscopic removal of CBDS.

Background: Trisomy 21 in Down syndrome (DS) is associated with an earlier accumulation of beta‐amyloid (Aβ) plaques and a higher rate of Alzheimer’s Disease due to the triplication of the amyloid precursor protein gene. In this study we compare accumulation rates of Aβ measured with [C‐11]PiB PET between large longitudinal cohorts of DS and neurotypical (NT) participants at a single site.
Methods: Participants imaged at the University of Wisconsin with ≥2 PiB scans and ≥2 years between scans were included in this study.

Background: Poor sleep health is associated with cognitive impairment (CI) in older adults. The cardiopulmonary coupling (CPC) sleep spectrogram, which estimates the sleep state modulated synchronization between heart rate variability and respiration, is an increasingly recognized measure of sleep stability. However, little is known about the longitudinal association between CPC measures of sleep stability and risk of incident CI.
