Background: To prioritize the introducing of new vaccines into China's National Immunization Program (NIP) among 10 candidate vaccines across four classes.

Methods: We developed a vaccine value framework using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) to simulate the introduction of new vaccines into NIP, covering 21 criteria encompassing six dimensions: safety, effectiveness, economy, innovation, accessibility, and appropriateness. Two decision scenarios were considered: Scenario One prioritized the four classes of vaccines, while Scenario Two identified specific vaccines within each class.

Malawi introduced typhoid conjugate vaccine (TCV) in 2023 through an integrated campaign delivering TCV alongside other vaccines and interventions (measles rubella vaccine (MRV), bivalent oral polio vaccine (OPV), and vitamin A Supplementation). The campaign sought to reach all children 9 months to younger than 14 years, representing more than 9 million individuals, and about half the country's population. Following the campaign, TCV was incorporated into the routine immunization program for 9-month-old infants.

November 2024

State Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Treatment of Severe Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, College of Veterinary Medicine, Jilin University, Changchun 130062, China.

Goose-derived Newcastle disease (ND) and gosling plague (GP) are serious threats to the goose industry. Conventional vaccines have made significant contributions to preventing GP and ND. Nevertheless, the renewal of conventional vaccines and the application of novel vaccines are urgently needed to align with eco-friendly and efficient breeding concepts and achieve the final goal of epidemic purification.

Background/objectives: Typhoid and paratyphoid fever together are responsible for millions of cases and thousands of deaths per year, most of which occur in children in South and Southeast Asia. While typhoid conjugate vaccines (TCVs) are licensed, no vaccines are currently available against Paratyphi A. Here we describe the design of a Paratyphi A conjugate.

Proteolysis-targeting vaccines (PROTAVs) for robust combination immunotherapy of melanoma.

bioRxiv

November 2024

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI 48109, USA.

Protein/peptide subunit vaccines are promising to promote the tumor therapeutic efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade (ICB). However, current protein/peptide vaccines elicit limited antitumor T cell responses, leading to suboptimal therapeutic efficacy. Here, we present proteolysis-targeting vaccines (PROTAVs) that facilitate antigen proteolytic processing and cross-presentation to potentiate T cell responses for robust ICB combination immunotherapy of melanoma.
