This work refers to the synthesis and characterization of poly (3-hydroxybutyrate)-b-oligo (2-ethyl oxazoline) (oligoEtOx). Cationic ring-opening polymerization of 2-ethyl oxazoline yielded poly (2-ethyl oxazoline) (oligoEtOx) with a hydroxyl end. Carboxylic acid-terminated PHB was reacted with oligoEtOx via dicyclohexylcarbodiimide chemistry to obtain PHB-b-oligoEtOx conjugates. The obtained PHB-b-oligoEtOx conjugates were successfully characterized by H- and C NMR, FTIR, DSC, and size exclusion chromatography. PHB-b-oligoEtOx conjugates can be promising biologic active materials.

The selection of a biomaterial plays a very important role for the development of scaffolds for biomedical applications. Amidst, the development of nanofibrous scaffolds through electrospinning technique by selecting a suitable polymer is of more importance. Poly (2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) (PEOX) is one among the selected polymers that can be employed for electrospinning for the development of scaffolds for biomedical applications.

Multifunctional polymers are interesting substances for the formulation of drug molecules that cannot be administered in their pure form due to their pharmacokinetic profiles or side effects. Polymer-drug formulations can enhance pharmacological properties or create tissue specificity by encapsulating the drug into nanocontainers, or stabilizing nanoparticles for drug transport. We present the synthesis of multifunctional poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline--2-glyco-2-oxazoline)s containing two reactive end groups, and an additional hydrophobic anchor at one end of the molecule.

In this paper, the pH-sensitive targeting functional material NGR-poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline)-cholesteryl methyl carbonate (NGR-PEtOz-CHMC, NPC) modified quercetin (QUE) liposomes (NPC-QUE-L) was constructed. The structure of NPC was confirmed by infrared spectroscopy (IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectrum (H-NMR). Pharmacokinetic results showed that the accumulation of QUE in plasma of the NPC-QUE-L group was 1.

Melanoma, an aggressive skin tumor, is prone to metastasis, significantly reducing patient survival rates once it occurs. Tumor microvascularity is a key factor in metastasis, making the inhibition of microvascular formation crucial. Emerging photothermal therapy (PTT) and microneedles (MNs) have garnered attention due to their non-invasive and controllable nature.

The skin, our largest organ, protects against environmental dangers but is vulnerable to various conditions like infections, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, skin cancer, and age-related collagen and elastin degradation. Its outer layer, the water-impermeable epidermis, presents challenges for passive drug delivery to the lower living layers of the skin. An ideal dermal delivery system should penetrate the epidermis and release treatments over time.
