To validate the clinical feasibility of deep learning-driven magnetic resonance angiography (DL-driven MRA) collateral map in acute ischemic stroke. We employed a 3D multitask regression and ordinal regression deep neural network, called as 3D-MROD-Net, to generate DL-driven MRA collateral maps. Two raters graded the collateral perfusion scores of both conventional and DL-driven MRA collateral maps and measured the grading time.

December 2024

Department of General Surgery, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, Shilin, Taipei, Taiwan; Breast Cancer Center, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, Shilin, Taipei, Taiwan; School of Medicine, Fu Jen Catholic University, New Taipei City, Taiwan; School of Medicine, College of Medicine, Fu Jen Catholic University, Taipei, Taiwan. Electronic address:

Background: The use of robotic-assisted nipple-sparing mastectomy (R-NSM) with immediate direct-to-implant (DTI) reconstruction in treatment of breast cancer has been a controversial topic. The adoption of robotic surgery in breast cancer treatment has gained traction globally due to its minimally invasive nature, potential for improved cosmetic outcomes and better intraoperative visualization. This study provides insights on safety and feasibility robotic mastectomy at one of the largest centers in Asia.

Rationale and Design of the HERZCHECK trial: Detection of Early Heart Failure Using Telemedicine and CMR in Structurally Weak Regions (NCT05122793).

J Cardiovasc Magn Reson

January 2025

Department of Cardiology, Angiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité, Augustenburger Platz 1, 13353 Berlin, Germany; Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Corporate Member of Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Berlin, Germany.

Background And Aims: Heart failure (HF) is an imminent global health problem. Yet established screening algorithms for asymptomatic pre-HF, allowing for early and effective preventive interventions, are largely lacking. The HERZCHECK trial, conducted in structurally underserved rural regions of North-Eastern Germany, aims to close this gap by evaluating the feasibility, diagnostic efficacy, and cost-effectiveness of a fully mobile, telemedically-supervised screening approach, combining cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) and laboratory testing as central elements.

Rapid pesticide residues detection by portable filter-array hyperspectral imaging.

Spectrochim Acta A Mol Biomol Spectrosc

January 2025

School of Precision Instrument and Opto-electronics Engineering, Tianjin University, Tianjin 300072 China. Electronic address:

The detection of pesticide residues in agricultural products is crucial for ensuring food safety. However, traditional methods are often constrained by slow processing speeds and a restricted analytical scope. This study presents a novel method that uses filter-array-based hyperspectral imaging enhanced by a dynamic filtering demosaicking algorithm, which significantly improves the speed and accuracy of detecting pesticide residues.

Shear Wave Elastography (SWE) is an imaging technique that detects shear waves generated by tissue excited by Acoustic Radiation Force (ARF), and characterizes the mechanical properties of soft tissue by analyzing the propagation velocity of shear wave. ARF induces a change in energy density through the nonlinear propagation of ultrasound waves, which drives the tissue to generate shear waves. However, the amplitude of shear waves generated by ARF is weak, and the shear waves are strongly attenuated in vivo.
