This study unveils an innovative method for synthesizing coumarin -glycosides, employing original biocatalysts able to graft diverse carbohydrate structures onto 7-mercapto-4-methyl-coumarin in one-pot reactions. The fluorescence properties of the generated thio-derivatives were assessed, providing valuable insights into their potential applications in biological imaging or sensing. In addition, the synthesized compounds exhibited no cytotoxicity across various human cell lines. This research presents a promising avenue for the development of coumarin -glycosides, paving the way for their application in diverse biomedical research areas.

Background: Microbiota of the distal part of the intestine produces Urolithin A (Uro A) as a derivative of ellagitannins hydrolysis. Recently, the mitophagy, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties of Uro A have focused more attention on its probable beneficial effects on neurodegenerative states. The purpose of this research was to study the impact of Uro A on the histopathology of the cerebellum in a rat model of streptozotocin-induced Alzheimer's disease.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is one of the most prevalent viruses that causes severe acute lower respiratory tract infections (ALRTIs) in the elderly and young children. There is no specific drug to treat RSV, only a broad-spectrum antiviral, ribavirin, which is only used in critical cases. Our research group is investigating antiviral agents of natural origin, such as coumarins and flavonoids, that may help reduce or prevent RSV infection.

Toxoplasmosis induced by Toxoplasma gondii is a well-known health threat, that prompts fatal encephalitis increased with immunocompromised patients, in addition, it can cause chorioretinitis, microcephaly, stillbirth in the fetus and even led to death. Standard therapy uses sulfadiazine and pyrimethamine drugs revealed beneficial results during the acute stage, however, it has severe side effects. UPLC-ESI-MS/MS used to explore C.
