The ethanol dehydration process is studied regarding protonic and Ag-loaded chabazite zeolite in advanced FT-IR and UV-vis spectroscopic studies with simultaneous mass spectroscopy and gas chromatography analyses of products. The spectroscopic investigation provides information on the species formed on the surface of catalysts, while mass spectrometry and gas chromatography methods identify the desorbed products. These studies are also supported by spectroscopic, chromatographic, and thermogravimetric analyses of coke species formed over the catalyst's surface during ethanol conversion. The Ag-chabazite catalyst shows higher selectivity for ethylene and propylene; the slower formation of coke species; and, thus, a longer lifetime.

Arabinoxylan-catechin complexes were synthesized using two eco-friendly methods: cold plasma and ultrasonic treatments. Their physicochemical, structural and functional properties were evaluated. Cold plasma and ultrasonic treatments did not significantly alter the molecular structure of arabinoxylan, although a decrease Mw was noticed.

Lead (Pb) toxicity impairs the growth, yield, and biochemical traits of rice, making it essential to mitigate Pb stress in soil and restore its growth and production. This study investigated the potential of ascorbic acid-coated quantum dots (AsA-QDs) in alleviating Pb stress in two rice cultivars, Japonica (JP-5) and Indica (Super Basmati), grown in pots under Pb stress (50 mg/kg as lead chloride) with AsA-QD suspensions (50 ppm and 100 ppm) as treatments. The synthesized AsA-QDs were characterized by zeta potential (-14.

Department of Radioactive Materials, Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares, Ocoyoacac, 52750, Mexico.

Background: Cancer immunotherapy is a relatively new approach to cancer treatment. Peptides that target specific pathways and cells involved in immunomodulation can potentially improve the efficacy of cancer therapy. Recently, we reported iPD-L1 as a novel inhibitor peptide that specifically targets the cancer cell ligand PD-L1 (programmed death ligand 1).

A novel series of azo dyes was successfully synthesized by combining amino benzoic acid and amino phenol on the same molecular framework azo linkage. The structural elucidation of these dyes was carried out using various spectroscopic techniques, including UV-vis, FT-IR, NMR spectroscopy, and HRMS. Surprisingly, the aromatic proton in some dyes exhibited exchangeability in DO, prompting a 2D NMR analysis to confirm this phenomenon.
