This study aimed to answer the question formulated according to the PICO strategy: 'Which essential oils show antimicrobial activity against biofilms formed on dental acrylic resin?' composed by population (dental acrylic resin), intervention (application of essential oils), comparison (denture cleansers, antifungal drugs, chlorhexidine, and oral mouthwashes), and outcome (antibiofilm activity). experimental studies evaluating the activity of EOs on biofilm formed on acrylic resin were included. PRISMA guidelines were followed, and the search was performed in the PubMed, Science Direct, Embase, and Lilacs databases and in the gray literature using Google Scholar and ProQuest in December 2023. A manual search of the reference lists of the included primary studies was performed. Of the 1467 articles identified, 37 were selected for full-text reading and 12 were included. Twelve EOs were evaluated, of which 11 showed activity against spp., 3 against , and 1 against . The EOs of and showed higher action than chlorhexidine, higher than Listerine, higher than nystatin, and higher than fluconazole and nystatin. However, chlorhexidine was more effective than and , sodium hypochlorite was more effective than , nystatin was more effective than , Amphotericin B more effective than and . In conclusion, the EOs of and showed antimicrobial activity to reduce biofilm on dental acrylic resin.

Aim: Percutaneous vertebroplasty is generally considered a safe procedure, however, cases of cardioembolism and cardiac perforation have been reported.
Case Presentation: A 69-year-old woman was referred to our emergency department after an outpatient echocardiogram revealed a "thrombus-like" formation involving the right heart. Two weeks before she had undergone percutaneous vertebroplasty of the third to fifth lumbar vertebrae due to osteoporotic fractures.

Purpose: This in-vitro study aimed to compare the shear bond strength (SBS) of cobalt-chromium (Co-Cr) crowns on Corticobasal® implant abutments, evaluating the effects of two surface treatments and two luting agents.
Materials And Methods: Thirty Co-Cr crowns were fabricated using CAD-CAM technology with a direct metal laser sintering process and divided into three groups based on surface treatment: Group I (untreated), Group II (sandblasted with 50 μm Al₂O₃), and Group III (Er: YAG laser etching). Each group was further subdivided based on luting cement: Sub group A (GC Fuji Plus) and Sub group B (Rely X U200).

Context: In the context of biomaterials, triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) is a widely used monomer in dental resins due to its favorable mechanical properties and ease of polymerization. However, improving its structural stability and enhancing its performance in biological applications remain crucial goals. This study examines the impact of incorporating gold (Au) nanoparticles into the TEGDMA matrix, focusing on their potential to improve mechanical, thermal, and optical properties for biomedical applications.

Objective: To assess the color stability and surface roughness of bioactive resin-based composite following exposure to coffee staining and brushing with whitening toothpastes.
Methods: Disk-shaped specimens of Filtek Z250 (FZ), Beautifil Flow Plus (BFP), Activa Presto (AP), and Fuji II LC (FII) were stained with coffee and then brushed with one of three toothpastes, conventional (C-TP), non-peroxide whitening (W-TP) or hydrogen peroxide-containing whitening toothpaste (HPW-TP) for 10 000 cycles. Changes in color (ΔE) and surface roughness were measured.

Objectives: Numerous studies have been conducted on the adaptation of dental restorations fabricated by additive (AM) and subtractive manufacturing (SM); however, the results are conflicting. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the fit and trueness of fixed restorations made by AM compared to SM.
Data: Studies investigating internal fit, marginal fit, and trueness of fixed prostheses were involved.
