This research examined the nature of social interaction profiles in the initial two-years of military service, profile association to early vulnerability to psychological distress, and the association between supervisor interaction qualities in the likelihood of profile membership. Data were collected as part of a larger longitudinal study. Participants who completed key variables at either 3-12 months post-enlistment ( = 5,233; 85.6% male) or 15-24 months post-enlistment ( = 2,162; 79.2% male) were included in the cross-sectional profile analysis of social interaction quality from military and nonmilitary sources. Cross-sectional latent profile analyses and transition analysis were used to investigate the social interaction profiles at each time-point, the effect of leader interactions on movement between profiles, and related psychological distress outcomes. Social interaction quality, and in particular colleague interactions, was predictably associated with psychological distress. Leadership interactions were associated with the nature of colleague social interactions. Greater positive social interactions with leadership was related to a reduced likelihood of experiencing less frequent negative interactions with colleagues. The findings implicate a possible role for supervisors in perpetuating positive or negative colleague interactions. Moreover, a trajectory of vulnerability to psychological distress may start in the initial two-years of military service and emerge from the psychosocial context.

Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Escola de Enfermagem Anna Nery, Departamento de Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil.

Objective: To analyze the influence of proxemic factors on communication and care provided by nursing professionals during transfusion in hemotherapy.

Method: A descriptive, exploratory and qualitative study with 25 nursing professionals from a hospital specializing in onco-hematological diseases in Rio de Janeiro, based on a systematized script, individual records of proxemic factors described by Edward Hall and recorded situational interviews. The analysis considered data thematic content and used the SketchUp 3D Modeling Software Review program to visually demonstrate the behavioral mapping of the interaction of nursing professionals with patients during care.

Civic organizations, ranging from interest groups to voluntary associations, significantly influence policy formation in representative democracies. This work presents a local case study that examines the relationship between voluntary associations and local political institutions in a village with nearly two thousand residents. Traditionally, sociologists' approaches have focused on individual characteristics such as age, gender, or socio-professional status.

From a current perspective, it is understood that body posture is influenced by individual asymmetries, cultural context, habitual body patterns, etiological factors and psychosocial factors allocated to the individual. Clarifying the musculoskeletal cause that originated the postural alteration is considered the clinical challenge in the treatment of pain or discomfort. Recent studies have shown the influence of changes in body weight on the distribution of plantar pressure and foot pain, emphasizing the importance of understanding these relationships.

Purpose: Prior research demonstrates that children with autism are more likely to experience unintentional injuries than the general population. Limited research exists on the symptoms or traits directly related to autism and this elevated injury rate, especially from the perspective of families with children with autism. This study used qualitative methodology to elucidate risk factors that may contribute to unintentional injuries in children with autism from the perspective of mothers raising children with autism.

[Marine trophic and socio-ecological networks under pressure: study of the cumulative impact of climate change and offshore wind farm development].

In the anthropocene era, one of the greatest challenges facing trophic modeling applied to the marine environment is its ability to couple the multiple effects of both climate change and local anthropogenic activities, notably the development of offshore wind farms. The major challenge is to create scenarios to characterize their cumulative effects on the functioning of the entire socio-ecological system, in order to propose appropriate management plans. Although modeling cumulative impact on socio-ecological networks is not yet widely used, data reported in the present review article show that the relevance of this approach could be established in the context of offshore wind power.
