Teledermatology is a dynamically developing field of medicine with the potential to significantly impact the future functioning of the healthcare system, including the prevention, diagnostics, and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). While its implementation has resolved numerous issues associated with the traditional patient management model for STIs, the risk associated with handling sensitive patient data in a virtual space must not be overlooked. This article presents a literature review regarding the application of teledermatology in the diagnostics and treatment of STIs, with a particular focus on addressing relevant problems, potential obstacles, and examining the impact of the COVID-19 global epidemic on the development of this field.

Current intimate partner violence (IPV) during pregnancy was found to be associated with adverse health outcomes including pregnancy loss, preterm labor, pregnancy complications, hypertension, delivering low birth weight baby, physical injuries and stress. IPV in Ethiopia is considerably high. Substance use and depression are prevalent in sexual and gender minorities (SGM), but evidence about their impacts on HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use is mixed. We assessed these impacts in a US-based cohort of 3,330 young SGM who tested negative for HIV and completed baseline and semiannual assessments on substance use (cocaine, methamphetamine, or heroin), depression, and PrEP use and adherence. We estimated prevalence differences (PDs) to compare baseline and 12-month PrEP use and adherence between participants with and without substance use and depression, separately and jointly.

Methods: Sixty-six patients with VLS were randomized into an observation group (33 cases, 2 cases dropped out, 1 case was discontinued) and a control group (33 cases, 5 cases dropped out). The observation group was treated with acupuncture combined with Kegel exercises, acupuncture was applied to bilateral Ciliao (BL32), Zhongliao (BL33), Sanyinjiao (SP6), etc.
