Purpose: To elucidate a distinctive clinical feature in cases of microsporidial stromal keratitis (MSK).
Method: A retrospective observational study of cases with a histopathological and/or microbiological diagnosis of MSK on corneal biopsy or host corneal button between 2016 and 2022 was conducted.
Results: Eighteen cases with a confirmed histopathological and/or microbiological diagnosis of MSK were detected. Careful review of slit-lamp photographs revealed the presence of pigmented keratic precipitates (KPs) beyond the area of stromal keratitis in five out of eighteen cases (27.7%).
Conclusion: The presence of pigmented KPs beyond the area of lesion can alert the clinician to keep microsporidia as a differential cause for stromal keratitis. Management can be tailored accordingly for a better outcome.

A 68-year-old male developed foreign body sensation in both eyes, photophobia and tearing in the right eye approximately 6 weeks after initiating dupilumab for severe atopic dermatitis. The right eye presented a crescent-shaped superficial-stromal ulcer in the peripheral cornea with an undermined edge, which was separated from the limbus of the cornea by a clear zone. The left eye had a pannus at the limbus of the cornea.

We present a case series consisting of three female patients in their 30s with presumed autoimmune uveitis resembling Cogan's syndrome following caesarean sections (C-sections) with severe intraoperative bleeding and the use of chitosan-tamponade, exhibiting a combination of varying ocular and auditory symptoms postoperatively. Our patients displayed a range of inflammatory ocular changes, including stromal keratitis, panuveitis, retinal infiltrates, haemorrhages, optic disc swelling, and intraretinal and subretinal fluid, along with otalgia and hearing loss, consistent with typical and atypical Cogan's syndrome. Treatment involved systemic corticosteroids, resulting in variable outcomes.

First introduced over 20 years ago as a treatment for progressive keratoconus, the original "Dresden" corneal cross-linking (CXL) protocol involved riboflavin saturation of the stroma, followed by 30 min of 3 mW/cm-intensity ultraviolet-A (UV-A) irradiation. This procedure generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) that cross-link stromal molecules, thereby stiffening the cornea and counteracting the ectasia-induced weakening. Due to their large size, riboflavin molecules cannot readily pass through the corneal epithelial cell tight junctions; thus, epithelial debridement was performed.

Introduction: Several cases of radio-induced neurotrophic keratitis had been observed after proton therapy delivering a mean corneal dose of ≥50 GyRBE.
