Despite the rapid expansion of the organic cathode materials field, we still face a shortage of materials obtained through simple synthesis that have stable cycling and high energy density. Herein, we report a two-step synthesis of a small organic molecule from commercially available precursors that can be used as a cathode material. Oxidized tetraquinoxalinecatechol (OTQC) was derived from tetraquinoxalinecatechol (TQC) by the introduction of additional quinone redox-active centers into the structure. The modification increased the voltage and capacity of the material. The OTQC delivers a high specific capacity of 327 mAh g with an average voltage of 2.63 V vs Li/Li in the Li-ion battery. That corresponds to an energy density of 860 Wh kg on the OTQC material level. Furthermore, the material demonstrated excellent cycling stability, having a capacity retention of 82% after 400 cycles. Similarly, the OTQC demonstrates increased average voltage and specific capacity in comparison with TQC in aqueous Zn-organic battery, reaching the specific capacity of 326 mAh g with an average voltage of 0.86 V vs Zn/Zn. Apart from good electrochemical performance, this work provides an additional in-depth analysis of the redox mechanism and degradation mechanism related to capacity fading.

Fluorinated gases (F-gases) play a vital role in the chemical industry and in the fields of air conditioning, refrigeration, health care, and organic synthesis. However, the direct emission of waste gases containing F-gases into the atmosphere contributes to greenhouse effects and generates toxic substances. Developing porous materials for the energy-efficient capture, separation, and recovery of F-gases is highly desired.

Context: The flow equations are derived for describing the two-dimensional hybrid molecular-scale and continuum flows in the very small surface separation with inhomogeneous solid surfaces and they can be applied for designing the specific bearings. The aim of the present study is to solve this specific flow problem in engineering with normal computational cost. The flow factor approach model describes the flow of the molecule layer adjacent to the solid surface and the Newtonian fluid model describes the flow of the intermediate continuum fluid.

In this study, a novel tunnel structure vanadate NaVO (NaVO) cathode for aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) is facilely fabricated by thermal decomposition of polyoxovanadate containing NH ions. The NaVO cathode is characterized by abundant oxygen vacancies and nanometer dimensions. These attributes can offer extra reaction sites and suppress structural collapse during circulation.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are generated in all cells. Systemic administration of allogenic EVs derived from epithelial and mesenchymal cells has been shown to be safe, despite carrying an array of functional molecules, including thousands of proteins. To address whether epithelial cell-derived EVs can be modified to acquire the capacity to induce an immune response, we engineered 293T EVs to harbor the immunomodulatory molecules CD80, OX40L, and PD-L1.

Cathode materials with both high capacity and high operating voltage are essential for advancing aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs). Conventional high-capacity materials, such as vanadium-based compounds, typically deliver low discharge voltages. In contrast, organic cathodes show high operating voltages but often exhibit limited capacity.
