Promoting antidiabetic phytomedicines necessitates evidence-based preclinical investigations, particularly in animal models. The present study investigated the validity of using the streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced type 2 diabetic (STZ/NA-induced T2DM) model to evaluate the effects of leaf crude extracts on controlling blood glucose levels and regulating physiological biomarkers in rats. Aqueous and methanol extracts dissolved in carboxymethylcellulose 1% (100, 200, mg/kg/day) were administered orally to STZ/NA-induced T2DM rats alongside glibenclamide (5 mg/kg) as the standard drug for four weeks. Blood samples were collected in fasting rats on days 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28 to measure glucose concentration, lipoprotein-cholesterol, and common serum biomarkers. Nutrition characteristics were also monitored, as well as the pancreas histology. Administration of STZ/NA in Wistar rats induced the T2DM significantly lower than did STZ alone (glycaemia 200 vs 400 mg/dL). The significant effects observed with plant extracts compared to untreated diabetic rats were blood glucose reduction (28-52 %), HDL-C increase, LDL-C decrease, ALAT increase, WBC increase, body weight gain (24%), and pancreas protection. The findings confirm the antidiabetic effect of in T2DM animal model.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the positive effects on anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, and microbial composition optimization of diabetic mice using tussah (Antheraea pernyi) silk fibroin peptides (TSFP), providing the theoretical foundation for making the use of silk resources of A. pernyi and incorporating as a supplement into the hypoglycemic foods.
Method: The animal model of diabetes was established successfully.
In Table 7.2, "Common interfering substances and/or conditions that affect glucose meters (for inpatient and outpatient use)," of the article cited above, the effects on glucose values measured by blood glucose meters for high and low hematocrit were incorrect. For high hematocrit, the effect would be falsely lower blood glucose values.

Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a leading cause of premature morbidity and mortality globally and affects more than 100 million people in the world's most populous country, India. Nutrition is a critical and evidence-based component of effective blood glucose control and most dietary advice emphasizes carbohydrate and calorie reduction. Emerging global evidence demonstrates marked interindividual differences in postprandial glucose response (PPGR) although no such data exists in India and previous studies have primarily evaluated PPGR variation in individuals without diabetes.

Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a major global health issue, with approximately 70% of cases linked to modifiable risk factors. Digital health solutions offer potential for CVD prevention; yet, their effectiveness in covering the full range of prevention strategies is uncertain.
Objective: This study aimed to synthesize current literature on digital solutions for CVD prevention, identify the key components of effective digital interventions, and highlight critical research gaps to inform the development of sustainable strategies for CVD prevention.

Importance: Understanding the interplay between diabetes risk factors and diabetes development is important to develop individual, practice, and population-level prevention strategies.
Objective: To evaluate the progression from normal and impaired fasting glucose levels to diabetes among adults.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This retrospective community-based cohort study used data from the Rochester Epidemiology Project, in Olmsted County, Minnesota, on 44 992 individuals with at least 2 fasting plasma glucose (FPG) measurements from January 1, 2005, to December 31, 2017.
