Healthcare disparities continue to affect communities in the United States that are racially and ethnically diverse, disabled, and economically disadvantaged, even though medical and technological advancements have made great strides in these areas. Disparities in health outcomes and difficulties obtaining care for both acute and chronic illnesses are more common among these populations when compared to the overall population. Disparities in anesthesia care delivery have been documented in multiple studies, and they are based on factors such as patients' racial/ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation, ability to communicate in English, and accessibility to health insurance.

Background And Objectives: Though preventive measures are available to alleviate the burden of dental caries, there remain racial disparities in the utilization of preventative dental care. Our objectives were to determine whether racial disparities persisted in receiving preventive oral procedures between (1) black children and white children; and (2) Hispanic children and white children.

Background: Racial and ethnic minorities remain underrepresented in the surgical workforce with well-documented barriers to diversity and inclusion, including financial support, lack of mentorship, and high attrition rates. Recent literature has documented race and sex discrimination in the training of surgical residents but little is known about the experience of discrimination at the surgical fellowship level. The STRIDE project aimed to give trialists practical information about how to decide which ethnic groups should be in their trials, and at what proportion.
Methods: We considered trials in six clinical areas: cancer, cardiovascular, diabetes, maternal health, mental health, and smoking cessation.
