Manganese-based contrast agents (MnCAs) have emerged as suitable alternatives to gadolinium-based contrast agents (GdCAs). However, due to their kinetic lability and laborious synthetic procedures, only a few MnCAs have found clinical MRI application. In this work, we have employed a highly innovative single-pot template synthetic strategy to develop a MnCA, , and studied the most important physicochemical properties in vitro. displays optimized relaxivities at both medium (20 and 64 MHz) and high magnetic fields (300 and 400 MHz) and an enhanced =21.1 mM s (20 MHz, 298 K, pH 7.4) upon binding to BSA ( =4.2×10 M). In vivo studies show that is cleared intact into the bladder through renal excretion and has a prolonged blood half-life compared to the commercial GdCA Magnevist. shows great promise as a novel MRI contrast agent.

Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) is an important target for the early evaluation, treatment, and postoperative follow-up in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Current detection technologies suffer from extended detection time and high rate of false positive amplification. Therefore, the development of rapid, highly sensitive and specific detection methods is of great significance for improving the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

We report a facile synthesis of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) templated AuAg alloy@AgBr Janus-nanoparticles (JNPs) using a non-conventional top-down approach with precise control over symmetry breaking. The addition of AgNO to a micellar solution of CTAB results in micelle-stabilized AgBr colloids having excess Ag at the interstitial sites of AgBr. AgBr colloids undergo weak self-assembly supported by inter-micellar interactions.

Virus-like particles (VLPs) are engineered nanoparticles that mimic the properties of viruses-like high tolerance to heat and proteases-but lack a viral genome, making them non-infectious. They are easily modified chemically and genetically, making them useful in drug delivery, enhancing vaccine efficacy, gene delivery, and cancer immunotherapy. One such VLP is Qβ, which has an affinity towards an RNA hairpin structure found in its viral RNA that drives the self-assembly of the capsid.

is a main human pathogen that results in a series of diseases in children and adults, such as pneumonia, bacteremia, and meningitis. Although there are many detection methods, they cannot meet the requirements of an early diagnosis. For the prevention and control of infection, quick, sensitive, and particular diagnostics are crucial.

Chromatin is the nucleoprotein complex that organizes genomic DNA in the nuclei of eukaryotic cells. Chromatin-modifying enzymes and chromatin-binding regulators generate chromatin states that affect DNA compaction, repair, gene expression, and ultimately cell phenotype. Many natural chromatin mediators contain subdomains that can be isolated and recombined to build synthetic regulators and probes.
