Introduction: The pharmacotherapy of asthma is a dynamic process that changes as our knowledge of the underlying pathophysiology and treatment of this disease continues to evolve. This implies the need for continuous revision of the recommendations of asthma guidelines and strategies.
Areas Covered: This review summarizes the latest key practical information on the pharmacological management of asthma in adults. We provide the background to the 2023 update of the GINA strategy report, focusing on changes and discussing areas of uncertainty. We review current and emerging pharmacotherapy for uncontrolled asthma, including synthetic agents and new biologics, and provide expert perspectives and opinions on the treatment of uncontrolled asthma.
Expert Opinion: The current pharmacological treatment of asthma, based on a step-by-step, control-based approach, with ICSs, LABAs and LAMAs being the mainstay generally provides good symptom control. Biologic therapies are often effective in treating T2 severe asthma. However, there is still room for improvement, such as the discovery of new molecules that specifically target chronic inflammation and, most importantly, the ability to provide solutions to the various areas of uncertainty that still exist. Also finding solutions to improve the accessibility and affordability of rescue ICS in resource-constrained settings is critical.

Background: The present study recapitulates the potency of the novel synthesized piperazine-benzoquinone derivative as a lead molecule selectively targeting AChE along with the antioxidative potential for the management of cognitive decline in Alzheimer's disease.
Method: Novel piperazine-benzoquinone derivative was synthesized implementing appropriate synthetic procedures and was characterized by various spectral and elemental techniques. The purity of this synthetic analogue was ascertained by TLC, melting point determination and elemental analyses.

Background: Dementia is considered a public health problem due to the exponential increase in cases in recent years, as it not only has an impact on health services, but also affects the social and economic level, especially in low and middle income countries. Evidence has shown that a trained caregiver improves the patient's quality of life, reduces behavioural symptoms and decreases the likelihood of the caregiver developing burnout. Currently scarce research has reported on the level of knowledge of dementia, specifically targeting caregivers in LMIC, that's why we aimed to measure the level of knowledge of caregivers attending to monthly training compared to untrained caregivers.

Background: Dementia represents a significant health challenge, with evidence suggesting that it can be potentially delayed or prevented through non-pharmacological interventions. There are different types of non-pharmacological interventions for Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). The Aging Well through Interaction and Scientific Education (AgeWISE) Program is a notable cognitive intervention designed to educate both individuals experiencing normal aging and those with age-related diseases.

Background: Older adults with cognitive impairments will benefit from multicomponent interventions include cognitive training, exercise, and lifestyle modifications. Many digital therapeutic products predominantly focus on computerized cognitive training, lacking effective approaches to other crucial interventions. This study aimed to investigate the long term effects of multidimensional comprehensive cognitive intervention training program - Brain and Body Rehab Training (BBRT), which integrates multidomain cognitive training with physical-cognitive training and multidimensional lifestyle interventions on cognitive performance in participants with cognitive impairment after a 8-month follow-up.

Background: Behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) occur frequently in persons with Alzheimer's disease (PAD). They cause suffering, institutionalization, carepartner distress, depression, burden, and decreased PAD-carepartner quality of life. Brexpiprazole approval advanced the AD treatment armamentarium.
