HO production the two-electron oxygen reduction reaction (2e ORR) offers a potential alternative to the current anthraquinone method owing to its efficiency and environmental friendliness. However, it is necessary to determine the structures of electrocatalysts with cost-effectiveness and high efficiency for future industrialization demand. Herein, a supramolecular catalyst composed of cobalt-phthalocyanine on a near-monodispersed and oxidized single-walled carbon nanotube (CoPc/o-SWCNT) was synthesized a solution self-assembly method for catalyzing the 2e ORR for HO electrosynthesis. Benefiting from the enhanced intermolecular interaction by introducing oxygen functional grups on o-SWCNTs, the oxidation states of single-atom Co sites were tuned the formation of two extra Co-O bonds. Coupled with structural characterizations, density-functional theory (DFT) calculations reveal that the depressed d-band center of the Co site regulated by two axially-bridged O atoms gives rise to a suitable binding strength of oxygen intermediates (*OOH) to favor the 2e ORR. Thus, the CoPc-6wt%/o-SWCNT-2 catalyst with optimized synthetic parameters delivers competitive 2e ORR performance for HO electrosynthesis in a neutral electrolyte (pH = 7), including enhanced HO generation, satisfactory molar selectivity of ∼83-95% and long-period stability (75 h) in H-cell measurement. Moreover, it could also be boosted to show a high current of 45 mA cm, recorded turnover frequency of 25.3 ± 0.5 s and maximum HO production rate of 5.85 mol g h with a continuous HO accumulation of 1.2 wt% in a flow-cell device, which outperformed most of the reported neutral-selective nonprecious metal single-atom catalysts.

Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) seriously endangers women's life and health due to its high invasion and mortality. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) mediated tumor cells apoptosis is considered an effective anticancer approach. Herein, we designed a natural active triple helix β-Glucan (BFP) wrapped single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs)-loaded doxorubicin (DOX) self-assembly (BSD) via generating excess ROS to induce oxidative stress damage for TNBC therapy.

Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries represent a promising solution for achieving high energy densities exceeding 500 Wh kg, leveraging cathode materials with theoretical energy densities up to 2600 Wh kg. These batteries are also cost-effective, abundant, and environment-friendly. In this study, an innovative approach is proposed utilizing highly oxidized single-walled carbon nanotubes (Ox-SWCNTs) as a conductive fibrous scaffold and functional interlayer in sulfur cathodes and separators, respectively, to demonstrate large-area and ultra-flexible Li-S batteries with enhanced energy density.

Background: Single-walled (SWCNTs) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) can pose risks in biological systems leading to harmful effects, such as, reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation, DNA damage, mitochondrial dysfunction, and ultimately, the cell death through apoptosis.
Objectives: The study assessed the nephrotoxicity of the SWCNTs and SWCNTs-Ag-TiO nanocomposites through in vitro and in vivo experiments, assessing oxidative stress, genotoxicity, and safety for biomedical applications.
Methodology: In vitro, HK-2 cell lines were utilized to evaluate the effects of nanomaterials on cellular activity, apoptosis, ROS generation, and micronuclei formations.

We report the preparation of poly(ionic) polymer-wrapped single-walled carbon nanotube dispersions for chemiresistive methane (CH) sensors with improved humidity tolerance. Single-walled CNTs (SWCNTs) were noncovalently functionalized by poly(4-vinylpyridine) (P4VP) with varied amounts of a poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) moiety bearing a Br and terminal azide group (Br-R). The quaternization of P4VP with Br-R was performed using continuous flow chemistry and Bayesian optimization-guided reaction selection.

Nanoparticles (NPs) possess the ability to penetrate cells and elicit a rapid and targeted immune response, influenced by their distinct physicochemical properties. These particles can engage with both micro and macromolecules, thereby impacting various downstream signaling pathways that may lead to cell death. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the primary mechanisms contributing to the immunotoxicity of both organic and inorganic nanoparticles.
