Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of early mobilization program with nonweight-bearing braces in improving functional outcomes and clinical indicators after diabetic foot ulcer surgery.
Methods: We conducted a randomized trial involving patients with diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) who underwent surgery at a tertiary university hospital. Participants were randomized to receive either early mobilization with nonweight-bearing braces or standard rehabilitation care.

After vascular puncture and catheterization, arteries can have many complications that impede blood flow such as vasospasm, thrombosis, and emboli generation, among other complications. Treatment depends on severity of ischemic symptoms and can range from as mild as applying local heat packs to surgical thrombectomy. We present a case of digital ischemia secondary to vascular puncture that was successfully treated with a supraclavicular nerve block, resulting in the vascular surgery team canceling an emergent surgery.

We used data from the RIETE registry to investigate the impact of baseline thrombocytopenia on early VTE-related outcomes, depending on the initial presentation as pulmonary embolism (PE) or isolated lower-limb deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Purpose: This study assesses the efficacy and safety of Portal Vein Recanalization with Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (PVR-TIPS) in non-cirrhotic patients with chronic portal vein occlusion (CPVO), cavernomatous transformation, and symptomatic portal hypertension (PH) and/or portal vein thrombotic progression.
Material And Methods: Medical records of 21 non-cirrhotic patients with CPVO and portal cavernoma undergoing PVR-TIPS were analyzed. Hemodynamic (intraprocedural reduction in portosystemic pressure gradient), clinical (data on gastrointestinal bleeding, abdominal pain, ascites, and presence of esophageal varices from imaging exams) and technical success (PVR-TIPS) assessed efficacy.
