To develop and to test the feasibility of conducting an objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) of the subject of surgery for third-year medical students in a limited-resources institution. To planning the OSCE following the Kane Validity framework. A blueprint based on curriculum was developed to design stations. A specific checklist/rubric (using google forms) was elaborated for each station. The pass/score was determined using the Modified Angoff Approach. Cronbach's alpha was used to determine the reliability. The whole process was evaluated by assessing students' and professors' satisfaction using a survey. It was feasible to develop and implement an OSCE in an institution with limited resources. 28 students and 10 examiners participated. Both considered that the OSCE allows evaluation of the clinical competencies of the subject. They consider that this kind of assessment changed their way of studying, placing more emphasis on clinical skills. In the same way, they consider that it is, more objective, and less stressful when compared to other traditional methods. Similarly, the implementation of this strategy encourages teachers to improve teaching strategies. It's possible to implement un OSCE in an institution with limited resources. The incorporation of this tool has a positive impact on learning.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a leading cause of cancer death due to metastatic spread. LIN28B is overexpressed in 30% of CRCs and promotes metastasis, yet its mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we genetically modified CRC cell lines to overexpress LIN28B, resulting in enhanced PI3K/AKT pathway activation and liver metastasis in mice.

The present article deals with the modulation of oscillatory electroosmotic flow (EOF) and solute dispersion across a nanochannel filled with an electrolyte solution surrounded by a layer of a dielectric liquid. The dielectric permittivity of the liquid layer adjacent to supporting rigid walls is taken to be lower than that of the electrolyte solution. Besides, the aforesaid liquid layer may bear additional mobile charges, , free lipid molecules, charged surfactant molecules , which in turn lead to a nonzero charge along the liquid-liquid interface.

Background: If the most evidence-based and effective smoking cessation apps are not selected by smokers wanting to quit, their potential to support cessation is limited.
Objective: This study sought to determine the attributes that influence smoking cessation app uptake and understand their relative importance to support future efforts to present evidence-based apps more effectively to maximize uptake.
Methods: Adult smokers from the United Kingdom were invited to participate in a discrete choice experiment.

Background: The use of the Ostial Flash balloon (Ostial Corporation) has received limited study in aorto-ostial chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary artery intervention (PCI).
Methods: The authors evaluated the outcomes of Ostial Flash balloon use in a large CTO-PCI registry (PROGRESS-CTO, NCT02061436).
Results: The Ostial Flash balloon was used in 54 of 907 aorto-ostial CTO PCIs in 905 patients (6.

Ferroptosis is a unique cell death mode that relies on iron and lipid peroxidation (LPO) and is extensively utilized to treat drug-resistant tumor. However, like the other antitumor model, requirement of oxygen limited its application in treating the malignant tumors in anaerobic environments, just as photodynamic therapy, a very promising anticancer therapy. Here, we show that an iridium(III) complex (Ir-dF), which was often used in proton-coupled electron transport (PCET) process, can induce efficient cell death upon photo irradiation, which can be effectively protected by the typical ferroptosis inhibitor Fer-1 but not by the classic iron chelating agents and ROS scavengers.
