Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) is a widely-used transcranial brain imaging technique in neuroscience research. Nevertheless, the lack of anatomical information from recordings poses challenges for designing appropriate optode montages and for localizing fNIRS signals to underlying anatomical regions. The photon measurement density function (PMDF) is often employed to address these issues, as it accurately measures the sensitivity of an fNIRS channel to perturbations of absorption coefficients at any brain location.

Owing to the nanoscale thickness, excellent mechanical and chemical stabilities, 2D materials including graphene and hexagonal boron nitride have emerged as promising artificial solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) candidates for lithium metal batteries. However, whether the implementation of 2D materials is beneficial to electrochemical performance remains controversial, and the key to confining the electroplated Li beneath the 2D materials remains elusive. Here, a nanocrystalline graphene (NG) film is synthesized on high-carbon Cu and the Li plating/stripping behavior on Cu grown with different 2D materials is investigated.

A 76-year-old man with a past occupational history as a firefighter and construction worker presented at an urgent care center with signs and symptoms of chronic dry cough, exertional dyspnea, and fatigue. His initial chest X-ray showed interstitial thickening in the middle and lower lobes with pulmonary infiltrates bilaterally. The patient was treated with an outpatient course of antibiotics.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the relationship between the Systemic Inflammatory Response Index (SIRI) and Cerebral Small Vessel Disease (CSVD), focusing on its key imaging markers.
Methods: We enrolled 344 patients admitted to the neurology department between January 2022 and September 2024, comprising 223 patients diagnosed with CSVD and 121 without CSVD. Baseline characteristics were compared between groups, and multivariate logistic regression was performed to assess the impact of SIRI on CSVD risk.
