Objectives: The main objective was to describe spontaneous nystagmus characteristics during an episode of delayed endolymphatic hydrops (DEH), including an initial vertical upbeating nystagmus in one patient. The secondary objective was to highlight the contribution of chemical labyrinthectomy.

Methods: Episodic vertigo after a prolonged period of time of sensorineural hearing loss (profound or total) in one ear characterized ipsilateral DEH and was associated with the development of hearing loss in the opposite ear in contralateral DEH.

Botryomycome also called pyogenic granuloma, is an inflammatory tumor of the skin and mucous membranes often caused by superinfection of minor traumatism. Its uniqueness lies in its granulomatous organization in which each granulation contains bacteria and the predominance of many newly formed blood vessels, with the lights on variables ratings and a turgid endothelium responsible for the ulcero-hemorragic appearance. This delicate condition poses a real problem of treatment which included: an appropriate antibiotherapy, surgical removal or electrocoagulation which, until today is more difficult in countries with limited income.

Thoracic infections due to Trichomonas species often go unrecognised as they are seldom described in the literature. We describe a case that, to our knowledge, is the first reported case of empyema caused by this organism. A 59 year old man with metastatic adenocarcinoma of the lung developed a right pyopneumothorax following treatment with corticosteroids and radiotherapy.

[Gentamycin impregnated plaster beads in the treatment of bone infection].

The authors have used gentamycin impregnated plaster beads in the treatment of 409 chronic osteomyelitis. This technic was associated with large surgical excisions of the septic area, stabilization of the focus and coverage using flaps. About 95 per cent of the patients were cured after a 37 month average follow-up.
