Willd. is an understudied wild edible plant native to the Eastern United States. Other species of have been used across the world for several thousand years as a livestock feed and as "green manure." The use of for human consumption is thought to be limited by its high total polyphenolic content (TPC). However, the TPC and nutritional content of has not been thoroughly studied. We measured TPC and other nutrients before and after cooking methods designed to lower TPC. We found that TPC was 4.26 g gallic acid equivalent (GAE) kg DW in raw . All cooking methods significantly lowered TPC. Protein content was 19% DW, and the apparent protein digestibility was 78.45%. Our yield was 173 g FW m day and 5.53 g DW m day. is a high-yielding plant with great potential for cultivation and domestication.

Wheat breeders are constantly looking for genes and alleles that increase grain yield. One key strategy is finding new genetic resources in the wild and domesticated gene pools of related species with genes affecting grain size. This study explored a natural population of Triticum turgidum (L.

Prioritizing defense over growth often occurs under ultraviolet (UV)-B radiation while several studies showed its growth-promoting effects on photosynthetic organisms, how they overcome the growth-defense trade-off is unclear. This study deciphered the acclimation responses of the cyanobacterium Nostoc sphaeroides to low UV-B radiation (0.08 W m) using quantitative proteomic, physiological and biochemical analyses.

Introduction And Objective: Rumex sanguineus, a traditional medicinal plant of the Polygonaceae family, is gaining popularity as an edible resource. However, despite its historical and nutritional significance, its chemical composition remains poorly understood. To deepen the understanding of the of Rumex sanguineus composition, an in-depth analysis using non-targeted, mass spectrometry-based metabolomics was performed.
