Background: Students' academic motivation is crucial to their academic performance, success, and future career performance. Understanding the experiences of students regarding academic motivation can help address this issue. This qualitative study aimed to explore the experiences of dentistry students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences regarding academic motivation.
Methods: This qualitative content analysis study collected data through semi-structured individual interviews with open-ended questions. The collected data were then organized into codes, subcategories, categories, and themes. Extensive interviews, meetings, and active engagement with the participants were conducted to ensure the strength of the data collected.
Results: The results of this study yielded 20 subclasses and 11 classes. These codes, categories, and sub-categories were summarized into seven themes: self-efficacy, outcome expectations, outcome expectancies, emotional coping, self-regulation, situational perception, and environment.
Conclusion: This study showed that various concepts, from personal processes to environmental and social processes, play a role in students' academic motivation. This study's findings can contribute to developing more effective interventions to improve the motivation level of dentistry students.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of videoconferencing platforms became ubiquitous in postsecondary education around the world, making it crucial to understand how to maximize the efficacy of synchronous online classes. Given that social information can act as a motivation and improve memory, the current study tested the hypothesis that brief social presence during an online class would act as a social reward that would increase delayed memory for lecture information. Undergraduate students attended a mock synchronous class during which they viewed a pre-recorded science lecture, and social presence was manipulated by having participants turn on their cameras before and after the lecture (high social presence) or having cameras remain off during the entire class (low social presence).

The purpose of this research includes analyzing the interaction between online English learning motivations, digital readiness, academic engagement, self-regulated English learning attainment, and technology self-efficacy. These interactions were examined based on data gathered from learners in online English courses through the method of structural equation modeling. Analysis found that online English learning motivation has a significant impact on the learners' level of digital readiness and levels of academic engagement, thereby underlining its importance in getting learners ready for meaningful navigation of the digital environments with emphasis on specific academic tasks.
