We investigated the interlinked N-H and N-C photochemistry of primary and secondary amines via the state-resolved detection of vibrationally excited CH product and H atom product by 200-235 nm dimethylamine photodissociation using resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI) and velocity map imaging (VMI) techniques. The out-of-plane bending (ν) vibrationally excited CH showed a bimodal translational energy distribution that became unimodal with a near-zero product yield at longer photolysis wavelengths (λ). In contrast, a unimodal distribution was observed for the C-H stretching (ν) vibrationally excited CH products with an almost constant product yield in the examined λ region. We ascribed the state-specific energy releases of the CH products to two reaction pathways based on calculations of the potential energy surface (PES): the direct N-CH dissociation pathway and the indirect N-CH dissociation pathway via the N-H bond conical intersection. Meanwhile, the H atom product showed a bimodal energy distribution similar to the ammonia photodissociation model, with an excited-state counterproduct channel that became accessible at a shorter λ. These results suggest that the N-H and N-C bond dissociations are connected, and these dissociations cause different photochemistry between primary/secondary amines and tertiary amines.

Carbon-encapsulated nanoscale zero-valent-iron (C@Fe) derived from plant-based extracts has been the subject of growing interest due to its environmental friendliness. However, the effects of various pyrolysis atmospheres on the structure-function connections of C@Fe are still unclear. In this study, three pyrolytic atmospheres, namely Air, N, and 5% H/Ar were selected to fabricate X-C@Fe (X represented as A, N, H) for removing 2,4,6-Trichlorophenol (TCP), and the relationships between their structures and functions were demonstrated.

Background: Prevention of drug-resistant tuberculosis is a global health priority. However, trials evaluating the effectiveness of treating infection among contacts of persons with drug-resistant tuberculosis are lacking.
Methods: We conducted a double-blind, randomized, controlled trial comparing 6 months of daily levofloxacin (weight-based doses) with placebo to treat infection.

In recent years, molecular-based ferroelectric materials have attracted widespread research interest due to their excellent performance. Among them, host-guest-type crown ether inclusion compounds composed of organic ammonium cations, crown ether molecules and corresponding anions have become a star component in the design of molecular-based ferroelectric materials because they are prone to order-disorder phase transitions. Many anions have been studied extensively as counter-ions, such as bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)amidate (TFSA), PF and [FeCl].

Neuroinflammation in the central nervous system (CNS), driven largely by resident phagocytes, has been proposed as a significant contributor to disability accumulation in multiple sclerosis (MS) but has not been addressed therapeutically. Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) is expressed in both B-lymphocytes and innate immune cells, including microglia, where its role is poorly understood. BTK inhibition may provide therapeutic benefit within the CNS by targeting adaptive and innate immunity-mediated disease progression in MS.

In this article, the synthesis of bis(phosphine), -PhPCHC(O)N(H)CHCHPPh- (1) (hereafter referred to as "PNHP" and its anionic form as "PNP") and its group 10 metal chemistry and catalytic studies are described. PNHP (1) on reaction with NiCl(DME) and PdCl(COD) afforded pincer complexes, [MCl{(PNP)κ-,,}] (M = Ni, 2; Pd, 3). A similar reaction of 1 with PtCl(COD) yielded a chelate complex, [PtCl{(PNHP)κ-,}] (4), which on further treatment with LiHMDS produced the 1,2-azaphospholene-phosphine complex, [PtCl(Ph){(-P(Ph)CHCONCHCHPPh-)κ-,}] (5) P-C/P-N bond metathesis.
