Background And Purpose: To assess the effects of a rehabilitation protocol of rotator cuff (RC) isometrics coupled with traditional shoulder exercises on patient-rated outcomes, muscle strength, and electromyographic activity in individuals with RC tendinopathy.
Methods: Eleven individuals (8 women and 3 men, 37.9 ± 5.6 years) with RC tendinopathy performed isometric RC exercises in combination with scapular muscle stretching and strengthening for 6 weeks. Treatment effects were assessed with patient-rated pain and shoulder function, isometric muscle strength, electromyographic activity during arm elevation and internal and external shoulder rotation, and pain during arm elevation before and at the end of the first session, and after 6 weeks of intervention.
Results: There were improvements in pain and shoulder function, increased isometric muscle strength for arm elevation and internal rotation, increased muscle activity of the infraspinatus and serratus anterior, and reduced pain during arm elevation after 6 weeks of intervention.
Discussion: This case report showed improvements on pain and function, increases on isometric strength of the shoulder and on electromyographic activity of the serratus anterior and infraspinatus muscles, as well as decreases on pain during arm elevation, after a 6-week intervention of RC isometric exercises associated with scapular muscle stretching and strengthening in patients with RC tendinopathy.

Migrant populations - including labour migrants, undocumented migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, internationally displaced persons, and other populations on the move - are exposed to a variety of stressors that affect their mental health. We designed and tested the effectiveness of a stepped-care programme consisting of two scalable psychological interventions developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and locally adapted for migrant populations. A parallel-group randomized controlled trial was conducted in Italy.

Background: Insulin resistance and the G allele of rs738409 interact to create a greater risk of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
Objective: This study aims to confirm that one promising way to reduce insulin resistance is by following a very low-carbohydrate (VLC) dietary pattern.
Methods: Adults with rs738409-GG or -CG with liver steatosis and elevated liver function tests, were taught an ad libitum VLC diet, positive affect and mindful eating skills, goal setting, and self-monitoring and given feedback and coaching for 4 months.
Objectives: The current experiment was conducted to investigate the combined effect of levofloxacin (LVX) and metformin treatment on blood glucose levels, malondialdehyde (MDA),nitrite levels, and anxiety in streptozotocin (STZ)+ nicotine adenine dinucleotide (NAD)-induced diabetic rats.
Materials And Methods: In this study, Wistar rats have been used. After receiving a single dose of STZ + NAD (45 mg/kg, + 50 mg/kg, ), the rats developed diabetes.

Background: Valoctocogene roxaparvovec, an adeno-associated virus vector that transfers a human factor VIII (FVIII) coding sequence to hepatocytes, provides bleeding protection for people with severe hemophilia A (HA).
Objective: Determine the efficacy and safety of valoctocogene roxaparvovec with concomitant prophylactic glucocorticoids in the open-label, single-arm, phase 3b GENEr8-3 trial.
Methods: Participants with severe HA who were using HA prophylaxis received one 6x10 vg/kg infusion of valoctocogene roxaparvovec concomitantly with daily prophylactic glucocorticoids (40 mg prednisolone equivalent/d weeks 0‒8; taper to 5 mg/d weeks 9‒19).

Purpose: This paper presents a deep learning approach to recognize and predict surgical activity in robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery (RAMIS). Our primary objective is to deploy the developed model for implementing a real-time surgical risk monitoring system within the realm of RAMIS.
Methods: We propose a modified Transformer model with the architecture comprising no positional encoding, 5 fully connected layers, 1 encoder, and 3 decoders.
