Introduction: Hypertension is the leading preventable cause of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality globally, with a disproportionate impact on low-income and middle-income countries like Sri Lanka. Effective blood pressure (BP) control improves outcomes in patients with hypertension. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of uncontrolled hypertension, and its correlates among Sri Lankan patients with hypertension in clinic settings.

Introduction: Diazoxide is the first-line treatment for children with hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia (HI). In these cases, diazoxide raises blood glucose levels by suppressing insulin release, preventing hypoglycemia, and potentially devastating end-organ sequelae. Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS) is an exceedingly rare side effect of diazoxide.

Importance: Hypertension is a risk factor for the development and progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD). It is unclear whether different thiazide diuretics have a differential impact on kidney outcomes.
Objective: To compare kidney outcomes in patients with hypertension taking chlorthalidone and hydrochlorothiazide.
Introduction: Hypertension and diabetes are leading causes of adult hospital admissions and mortality across health facilities in Ghana. Timely screening and diagnosis at primary health facilities are crucial to initiate treatment and avert complications. This study explored service availability and readiness of health systems for managing hypertension and diabetes in selected district hospitals in Ghana.

Noncardiogenic pulmonary edema has been reported as a rare adverse reaction of hydrochlorothiazide. Symptoms can develop acutely after medication ingestion, and patients may present acutely ill. The mechanism by which hydrochlorothiazide causes pulmonary edema remains unknown and is considered idiosyncratic.
