Flexible engineering of the complex shapes of the surface nanoscale axial photonics (SNAP) bottle microresonators (SBMs) is challenging for future nanophotonic technology applications. Here, we experimentally propose a powerful approach for the one-step fabrication of SBMs with simultaneous negative and positive radius variations, exhibiting a distinctive "bump-well-bump" profile. It is executed by utilizing two focused and symmetrical CO laser beams exposed on the fiber surface for only several hundred milliseconds. The spectral characteristics of different eigenmodes are analyzed, providing deep insights into the complex physical processes during the CO laser exposure. The shapes of the SBMs can be flexibly adjusted by the exposure time, laser power, and applied pre-strains. As a proof of this technique, the developed approach enables the efficient production of a bat SBM, ensuring a uniform field amplitude of the bat mode over the length exceeding 120 µm with 7% deviation. Our proposed technique provides a powerful technique for the efficient fabrication of SBMs with predetermined shapes, laying the groundwork for its applications on microscale optical signal processing, quantum computing, and so on.

Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) is nowadays a powerful technique widely used in biosensing and imaging, offering high sensitivity and specificity for detecting and mapping biomolecules. Screen-printed electrodes (SPEs) offer a versatile and cost-effective platform for ECL applications due to their ease of fabrication, disposability, and suitability for large-scale production. This research introduces a novel method for improving the ECL characteristics of screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) through the application of CO laser treatment following fabrication.

Carbapenem-resistant (CRE) is an emerging global concern. Specifically, carbapenemase-producing (CP) strains in CRE have recently been found in clinical, environmental, and food samples worldwide, causing many hospitalizations and deaths. Their rapid identification and characterization are paramount in control, management options, and treatment choices.

Objectives: To investigate the effectiveness of different holmium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Ho:YAG) laser modes for lithotripsy in the "dusting era" and identify the optimal laser mode for producing stone fragments measuring ≤0.5 mm.
Methods: We used plaster of Paris-made artificial stones crushed into 2-3 mm pieces, weighing 1 g in total.

Objectives: This study aims to comparatively assess the preventive and protective effects of the self-assembling peptide P-4 on enamel erosion and evaluate the potential for enamel surface recovery when professional products are combined with home-use dental-care products during the erosive process.
Materials And Methods: Ninety-nine bovine incisors were divided into nine groups: a control group, four groups with the application of professional-products [P-4 peptide (Curodont-Repair), stannous/Sn containing solution (8% Sn), casein-phosphopeptide-amorphous-calcium-phosphate fluoride/CPP-ACPF (MI Varnish), sodium fluoride/NaF (Profluorid)] and four groups with the combination of professional products and home-use daily dental care products [P-4 peptide (Curodont Repair + Curodont Protect), stannous ions containing agents (8% Sn+Emofluor Gel Intensive-Care), CPP-ACPF (MI Varnish + MI Paste Plus), NaF (Profluorid + ReminPro)]. Professional products were applied once before a five-day erosive cycle, involving six 2-minute citric-acid exposures per day.

Copper-based sulfides are attractive candidates for NIR I and II responsive photothermal therapy but often suffer from high hydrophobicity, suboptimal photothermal conversion, and poor biostability and biocompatibility. In the present work, a rapid, one-pot synthesis method was developed to obtain Au-doped CuS (ACSH NDs) dual plasmonic nanodots. ACSH NDs exhibit excellent peroxidase-like catalytic activity for pH-responsive OH radical generation along with efficient glutathione depletion under tumor microenvironment mimicking conditions.
