Professional support for elderly people suffering from cognitive impairment needs to be comprehensive, and requires the active involvement of a wide range of professionals. Two clinical cases show how the combined support of a therapeutic day-care center and medical specialists can improve the quality of life of patients and their families, by helping to refine diagnoses or adjust treatment.

This prospective, naturalistic, longitudinal study examined changes in borderline-specific symptoms in a six-month, manualbased transference-focused psychotherapy (TFP) inpatient treatment for patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD) in comparison to a waitlist control group. Seventy-four patients with BPD received TFP in a multi-professional inpatient setting, of whom 27 patients represented the waitlist control group. 31 patients completed six months of treatment.

An 83-year-old female patient presented with angina pectoris, hemoglobinuria and jaundice. Laboratory diagnostics proved difficult due to hemolysis in all blood tubes, following re-evaluation after warming the blood sample.With low haptoglobin, elevated lactate dehydrogenase and elevated indirect bilirubin, we made a suspected diagnosis of autoimmune hemolytic anemia with cold antibodies, which was confirmed through a positive Coombs test and detection of C3d-loaded erythrocytes.

Background: Active case-finding is an effective strategy for combating leprosy, especially in early multibacillary cases in endemic regions. This early approach includes systematic actions such as epidemiological investigations, community surveys, and awareness campaigns to identify leprosy cases. This study reports new leprosy cases diagnosed through an active case-finding initiative conducted in 12 underserved populations from Amazonas in 2023.

Objective: The aim of this study was to report the case of a child with Jacobsen syndrome in order to provide phenotypic information about this rare genetic disorder.
Case Description: A 5-year-old female preschooler was diagnosed with Jacobsen syndrome by karyotype testing. She presented with a variety of craniofacial anomalies and malformations, including cardiac impairment, characterized by a cluster of malformations in the left ventricle in line with the diagnosis of Shone's complex.
