Understanding what processes shape the formation of species' geographic range limits is one central objective linking ecology and evolutionary biology. One potentially key process is sexual selection; yet, theory examining how sexual selection could shape eco-evolutionary dynamics in marginal populations is still lacking. In species with separate sexes, range limits could be shaped by limitations in encountering mates at low densities. Sexual selection could therefore modulate mate limitation and resulting extinction-colonization dynamics at range margins, through evolution of mate encounter ability and/or mate competition traits, and their demographic consequences. We use a spatially explicit eco-genetic model to reveal how different forms of sexual selection can variably affect emerging range limits. Larger ranges emerged when sexual selection acted exclusively on traits increasing mate encounter probability, thus reducing female's mate limitation toward the range margins. In contrast, sexual selection via mate competition narrowed range limits due to increased trait-dependent mortality in males and elevated mate limitation for females. When mate encounter coevolved with mate competition, their combined effects on range limits depended on the mating system (polygyny vs. monogamy). Our results demonstrate that evolution of species' ranges may be importantly shaped by feedbacks between sexual selection and spatial population demography and dynamics.

Background: Penile cancer is a rare malignancy treated via various surgical techniques guided by disease stage and grade with current guidelines suggesting partial or total penectomy for those with pT2 or greater. We report a case of a patient with pT2 squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the penis who underwent circumcision with left partial-glansectomy and resection of preputial mass with good oncological control while providing good urinary and sexual function.
Case Description: An 82-year-old male presented to the clinic due to a mass that doubled in size in an 8-month timeframe.
Liver injury in tuberculosis patients, associated with noncompliance with treatment, is further exacerbated by viral hepatitis, which not only directly harms the liver but also increases susceptibility to drug-induced liver injury. The aim of this study was to analyze the associated risk factors for viral hepatitis in tuberculosis patients. Sexual and gender minority (SGM) identifying individuals experience worse health outcomes compared to non-SGM identifying counterparts. Objective: To analyze the concept of sexual dysfunction in postpartum women and identify their essential attributes, antecedents, and effects.
Method: Concept analysis based on a framework by Walker and Avant, elaborated in eight stages, which were: concept selection; identification of the use of the concept; determination of essential attributes; construction of the model case; additional case; identification of antecedents and effects; and definition of empirical references. Furthermore, an integrative review was carried out simultaneously, with a view to supporting the analysis of the concept.

Butterfly wing patterns exhibit notable differences between the dorsal and ventral surfaces, and morphological analyses of them have provided insights into the ecological and behavioural characteristics of wing patterns. Conventional methods for dorsoventral comparisons are constrained by the need for homologous patches or shared features between two surfaces, limiting their applicability across species. We used a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based analysis, which can compare images of the two surfaces without focusing on homologous patches or features, to detect dorsoventral bias in two types of intraspecific variation: sexual dimorphism and mimetic polymorphism.
