The Intermediate Data Structure (IDS) encourages sharing historical life course data by storing data in a common format. To encompass the complexity of life histories, IDS relies on data structures that are unfamiliar to most social scientists. This article examines four features of IDS that make it flexible and expandable: the Entity-Attribute-Value model, the relational database model, embedded metadata, and the Chronicle file. I also consider IDS from the perspective of current discussions about sharing data across scientific domains. We can find parallels to IDS in other fields that may lead to future innovations.

Impact of intermediate-dose tertiary prophylaxis on quality of life and psychological aspects of adult patients with severe/moderate hemophilia A.

Hematology

December 2025

Department of Hematology, The Third People's Hospital of Chengdu, The Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu Second Clinical College of Chongqing Medical University, Chengdu, People's Republic of China.

Objectives: Whether intermediate-dose tertiary prophylaxis can improve quality of life and psychological health in adults with severe/moderate hemophilia A has not been determined. This research aims to explore the impact of intermediate-dose tertiary prophylaxis with recombinant human FVIII (rhFVIII) on quality of life, anxiety and depression in such individuals transitioned from on-demand treatment.

Methods: This retrospective analysis collected data from July 2019 to July 2022.

Background: The Scientific Registry for Transplant Recipients (SRTR) publishes outcomes of all transplant centres in the USA two times a year. The outcomes are publicly available and used by insurance payers and patients to assess the performance of a programme. Poor performance can result in temporary suspension or termination of a transplant programme.

Exploring the relationship between upwelling intensity and socio-ecological attributes of marine exploitation areas for benthic resources (MEABRs), along the southern Humboldt Current system.

J Environ Manage

January 2025

Departamento de Ecología y Biodiversidad, Facultad de Ciencias de la Vida, Universidad Andres Bello, Santiago, Chile; Centro de Investigaciones Marinas de Quintay, Universidad Andres Bello, Chile. Electronic address:

The Eastern Boundary Upwelling Systems (EBUS) sustains some of the most productive marine systems on Earth. Within each of these systems, the upwelling process exhibits spatial and temporal variation resulting in marked differences in upwelling intensity and seasonality along extensive coastlines. The study of this variation is well needed, given the magnitude of the services provided by upwelling, and the impending impacts of global warming on EBUS.

Enhanced priming effect in agricultural soils driven by high-quality exogenous organic carbon additions: A meta-analysis.

State Key Laboratory of Soil and Sustainable Agriculture, Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing 211135, China. Electronic address:

The addition of exogenous organic carbon (C) to soil can either accelerate or retard the soil organic carbon (SOC) mineralization, i.e., the priming effect (PE), which plays a crucial role in SOC sequestration and thus is significant in the context of global warming.

Unlabelled: Minimal residual disease (MRD) is the most important prognostic factor for B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) however nearly 20-30% of patients relapsed even when they achieved negative MRD, how to identify these patients is less addressed. In this study, we aimed to reassess the prognostic significance of MRD and IKZF1 in adult B-ALL patients receiving pediatric chemotherapy regimens. In the PDT-ALL-2016 cohort (NCT03564470), adult B-ALL patients were treated with a pediatric-inspired regimen; patients were redefined as standard (MRD-negative and IKZF1wild-type), intermediate (MRD-positive or IKZF1 deletion), and high-risk (MRD-positive and IKZF1 deletion) groups by combining IKZF1 deletion status and MRD.
