Here, electrical conductivity and explosive sensing properties of multifunctional chromone-Cd(II)-based coordination polymers (CPs) (-) have been explored. The presence of different pseudohalide linkers, thiocyanate ions, and dicyanamide ions resulted in 1D and 3D architecture in the CPs. Thin film devices developed from CPs - (complex-based Schottky devices, , , , and , respectively) showed semiconductor behavior. Their conductivity values increased under photo illumination (1.37 × 10, 1.85 × 10, 1.61 × 10, and 2.01 × 10 S m under dark conditions and 5.06 × 10, 8.78 × 10, 7.26 × 10, and 10.21 × 10 S m under light). The nature of the - plots of these thin film devices under light irradiation and dark are nonlinear rectifying, which has been observed in Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs). All four CPs (-) exhibited highly selective fluorescence quenching-based sensing properties toward well-known explosives, 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP) and 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP). The limit of detection (LOD) values are 55, 28, 27, and 31 μM for TNP and 78, 44, 32, and 41 μM for DNP for complexes -, respectively. A structure property correlation has been established to explain optoelectronic and explosive sensing properties.

Current antislip solutions focus on hydrophobicity to repel interfacial fluids, aiming to maintain solid-to-solid contact.

Peptides, due to their diverse and controllable properties, are used as both liquid and gas phase recognition elements for both biological and chemical targets. While it is well understood how binding of a peptide to a biomolecule can be converted into a sensing event, there is not the same mechanistic level of understanding with regard to how peptides modulate the selectivity of semiconductor/conductor-based gas sensors. Notably, a rational, mechanistic study has not yet been performed to correlate peptide properties to the sensor response for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as a function of chemical properties.

ConspectusOrganic mixed ionic electronic conductors (OMIECs) represent an exciting and emerging class of materials that have recently revitalized the field of organic semiconductors. OMIECs are particularly attractive because they allow both ionic and electronic transport while retaining the inherent benefits of organic semiconducting materials such as mechanical conformability and biocompatibility. These combined properties make the OMIECs ideal for applications in bioelectronics, energy storage, neuromorphic computing, and electrochemical transistors for sensing.

Metol (MTO), a commonly used photographic developer, has become an environmental pollutant due to its extensive use and subsequent release into water sources. The accumulation of MTO poses significant risks, including aquatic toxicity and potential bioaccumulation, leading to adverse effects on ecosystems. To address these environmental challenges, we developed a La₂NiO combined with graphene oxide (La₂NiO₄@GO) nanocomposite modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for the ultrasensitive detection of MTO.
