We present numerical results for the probability density function () and for the mean value of photon maximum penetration depth ‹› in a two-layer diffusive medium. Both time domain and continuous wave regime are considered with several combinations of the optical properties (absorption coefficient, reduced scattering coefficient) of the two layers, and with different geometrical configurations (source detector distance, thickness of the upper layer). Practical considerations on the design of time domain and continuous wave systems are derived. The methods and the results are of interest for many research fields such as biomedical optics and advanced microscopy.

This paper is devoted to the investigation of the plasmonic effect of metal nanoparticles (NPs) formed on the surface of the YAG: Bi, Ce, Yb phosphors in a temperature range between 4 and 300 K. Combination of a thin conversion layer with silver plasmonic nanostructures leads to increase of sensitizer absorption and emission efficiency. Enhancement of Bi luminescence in YAG epitaxial films with Ag NPs was observed upon cooling the samples below 200 K.

Objectives: Drug-loaded mucoadhesive silk fibroin (SF) microneedle patch can overcome the limitations of low bioavailability and significant pain associated with traditional treatment methods, such as topical application or injection of triamcinolone for oral submucous fibrosis (OSF). However, these systems release the drug too quickly, failing to meet the clinical requirements. This study aims to construct a mucoadhesive SF microneedle patch pre-assembled with silk fibroin nanospheres (SFN) and explore its ability to sustain the release of triamcinolone in the treatment of OSF.

Bioimaging technology has been broadly used in biomedicine, and the growth of multimodal imaging technology based on synergistic advantages can overcome the shortcomings of traditional single-modal bioimaging methods and attain high specificity and sensitivity in the fields of bioimaging and biosensing. The analysis of low-abundance microRNAs (miRNAs) in complex organisms is of high importance for early-stage diagnosis and clinical treatment of tumors. In our current study, a biosensing nanoplatform based on Tf-AuNCs and MnO nanosheets was developed for multimodal imaging of tumor cells.

Introduction: In Europe, veterinary vaccines are strictly controlled by the Official Medicines Control Laboratories (OMCLs) of the General European OMCL Network, coordinated by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare. Despite a meticulous verification programme for immunological veterinary medicinal products (IVMPs), the products' genomic composition has not yet been subject to evaluation in veterinary pharmacy.
Material And Methods: A study was carried out on Poland's poultry vaccines containing the infectious bronchitis virus which have the greatest market penetration.

The efficient removal of organic contaminants from high-salinity wastewater is crucial for resource recovery and achieving zero discharge. Nanofiltration (NF) membranes are effective in separating organic compounds and monovalent salts, but they typically exhibit an excessive rejection of divalent salts. Modifying the charge characteristics of NF membranes can improve salt permeation; however, the role of charge spatial distribution in governing salt transport behavior is not fully understood.
