Microbial contamination and foodborne infections are a significant global public health concern. For this reason, the detection, monitoring, and characterization of pathogens represent a significant challenge in quality control settings. Standard approaches, such as culture methods and biochemical tests, are known to be very time-consuming and intensive. Conversely, molecular technologies based on the genomic identification of bacteria are quick and low-cost. is an opportunistic pathogen and a major concern especially in food industries. It is important to understand and implement multiple quality control measures to control infection risk and prevent the contamination of products. Standardized detection and confirmation tests such as the API Listeria test, MALDI-TOF MS, and PCR analysis are available. The aim of our work is to provide a specific molecular method, designed according to the EN UNI ISO 16140-3:2021, for the specific detection, monitoring, and characterization of spp. and contamination. The verification of this new rapid approach by real-time PCR (qPCR) overcomes the limitations of culture-based techniques, meeting all the verification criteria required by ISO guidelines, including implementation and item confirmation. This system offers a powerful approach to the real-time assessment of food safety, useful for industry self-monitoring and regulatory inspection.

Significant progress has been made in the last two decades in producing small (<2μm), high-purity, and low-adsorption particles, columns and system hardware, for ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography (UHPLC). Simultaneously, the recent rapid expansion of cell and gene therapies for treating diseases necessitates novel analytical technologies for analyzing large (>2 kbp) plasmid double-stranded (ds) DNA (which encodes for the in vitro transcription (IVT) of single-stranded (ss) mRNA therapeutics) and dsRNAs (related to IVT production impurities) biopolymers. In this context, slalom chromatography (SC), a retention mode co-discovered in 1988, is being revitalized using the most advanced column technologies for improved determination of the critical quality attributes (CQAs) of such new therapeutics.

Streptococcus pneumoniae (SPN) is a significant pathogen causing pneumonia and meningitis, particularly in vulnerable populations like children and the elderly. Available pneumonia vaccines have limitations since they only cover particular serotypes and have high production costs. The emergence of antibiotic-resistant SPN strains further underscores the need for a new, cost-effective, broad-spectrum vaccine.

Introduction: SRS for the treatment of limited brain metastases (BM) is widely accepted, but there are still limitations in the management of numerous BM. Frameless single-isocenter multitarget SRS is a novel technique that allows for rapid treatment delivery to multiple BM. We report our preliminary clinical, dosimetric, and patient´s shifts outcomes with this technique.

Developing a DNA autocatalysis-oriented cascade circuit (AOCC) via reciprocal navigation of two enzyme-free hug-amplifiers might be desirable for constructing a rapid, efficient, and sensitive assay-to-treat platform. In response to a specific trigger (), seven functional DNA hairpins were designed to execute three-branched assembly (TBA) and three isotropic hybridization chain reaction (3HCR) events for operating the AOCC. This was because three new inducers were reconstructed in TBA arms to initiate 3HCR (TBA-to-3HCR) and periodic repeats were resultantly reassembled in the tandem nicks of polymeric nanowires to rapidly activate TBA in the opposite direction (3HCR-to-TBA) without steric hindrance, thereby cooperatively manipulating sustainable AOCC progress for exponential hug-amplification (1:3).
