Teleoperated robots have attracted significant interest in recent years, and data gloves are one of the commonly used devices for their operation. However, existing solutions still encounter two challenges: the ways in which data gloves capture human operational intentions and achieve accurate mapping. In order to address these challenges, we propose a novel teleoperation method using data gloves based on fuzzy logic controller. Firstly, the data are collected and normalized from the flex sensors on data gloves to identify human manipulation intentions. Then, a fuzzy logic controller is designed to convert finger flexion information into motion control commands for robot arms. Finally, experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness and precision of the proposed method.

Working with a chainsaw is a risk for arborists. When handling a chainsaw, serious injuries can occur, particularly to the arms. For this reason, arborists must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) against chainsaws.

Introduction: Bodily waste management is a critical yet frequently neglected domain of infection prevention and control. We conducted a survey to examine various aspects of bodily waste management and related hygiene practices in nursing homes (NH) based on existing recommendations.
Methods: All NHs (n = 120) of canton Vaud in Switzerland were invited to participate in this cross-sectional survey between July 2022 and February 2023 using a questionnaire.
Problem/condition: Approximately 800 foodborne illness outbreaks occur in the United States each year. These outbreaks include approximately 15,000 illnesses, 800 hospitalizations, and 20 deaths. Although illnesses from outbreaks account for a small portion of all foodborne illnesses, outbreak investigations reveal how these illnesses originate by offering crucial data through epidemiologic, environmental health, and laboratory analyses and aid in outbreak mitigation and prevention.

Background: Ergonomic challenges resulting in work-related injuries are highly prevalent, and women surgeons encounter more ergonomic difficulties and resultant injuries than men. Cardiothoracic (CT) surgery requires intense physical demands, and it is unknown how surgeon's sex may impact these challenges. Therefore, we sought to explore the impact of sex on ergonomic-related issues faced by CT surgeons.

This paper endeavors to enhance the control mechanisms governing the grasping strategy of exoskeleton data gloves. A comprehensive approach was devised, integrating finite element numerical simulation techniques with the computerized control system of exoskeleton data gloves, establishing a novel, precise, and three-dimensional biomechanical finite element model of the hand. By amalgamating finite element modeling technology, biomechanical understanding, and hand kinematics, a straightforward yet efficient virtual grasping methodology was introduced to replicate three typical grasping actions dynamically.
