Acute upper limb ischemia is a rare, potentially limb- or life-threatening vascular emergency that may lead to limb dysfunction or amputation. We present a patient undergoing maintenance hemodialysis who was hospitalized for arteriovenous graft thrombus complicated by acute upper limb ischemia arising from thrombus shedding to the fingertip arteries during thrombolysis. We successfully restored fingertip arterial patency, avoided amputation, and recovered the function of the arteriovenous graft by precise thrombolysis, anticoagulation, correction of arteriospasm, and percutaneous transluminal angioplasty. This case provides a basis for vascular access surgeons to treat acute upper limb ischemia caused by thromboembolism similarly.

Background: Previous studies have shown that hypertonic saline nasal irrigation and gargling reduced the duration of symptoms in upper respiratory infections caused by coronavirus. This study aims to investigate the effects of two saline regimens on symptoms associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2).
Methods: Between 2020 and 2022, individuals aged 18-65 years who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) were randomly assigned to either low- or high-saline regimens for 14 days.

Background: The Genoss paclitaxel-coated balloon (PCB) is a novel PCB with shellac and vitamin E as excipients, enhancing drug delivery to the target lesion and minimizing restenosis.
Objectives: This study aimed to compare quantitative coronary angiographic outcomes at 6 months after treatment of de novo coronary artery disease (CAD) with 2 different types of PCBs.
Methods: This prospective, multicenter, noninferiority trial randomized 204 patients with chronic coronary syndrome or stabilized acute coronary syndrome to treatment with the shellac and vitamin E-based PCB or the reference PCB (SeQuent Please NEO) in a 1:1 ratio.

family-led mid-upper arm circumference (FL-MUAC) is a community-based acute malnutrition screening approach that is centered on training the mother or caregiver to use colour-coded MUAC tapes to screen children for malnutrition. A scoping review was conducted to summarise available evidence and evaluate the use of the FL-MUAC approach in the screening for acute malnutrition in Africa. A systematic literature search was performed using electronic databases to identify relevant research documents investigating the FL-MUAC approach.

Both acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease are risk factors for many outcomes of gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB). These are associated with higher mortality, longer hospitalisation, and greater need for transfusion in case of overt GIB. Our study aimed to further evaluate the role of kidney function in several clinical outcomes of GIB patients.

Vertebroplasty has shown excellent analgesic effects in patients with osteoporotic vertebral fractures. In Japan, percutaneous vertebroplasty, balloon kyphoplasty, and vertebral body stenting are commonly performed. All of these techniques require precise transpedicular vertebral puncture and complete cement filling without leakage.
