The traditional diagnosis of chronic hepatitis C usually relies on liver biopsy. Diagnosing chronic hepatitis C based on serum indices provides a non-invasive way to determine the stage of chronic hepatitis C without liver biopsy. In this paper, we proposed two automatic diagnosis systems for non-invasive diagnosis of chronic hepatitis C based on serum indices, an extreme learning machine (ELM) based auto-diagnosis method and a hybrid method using k-means clustering and ELM.

Purpose: In laparoscopic liver surgery, registering preoperative CT-extracted 3D models with intraoperative laparoscopic video reconstructions of the liver surface can help surgeons predict critical liver anatomy. However, the registration process is challenged by non-rigid deformation of the organ due to intraoperative pneumoperitoneum pressure, partial visibility of the liver surface, and surface reconstruction noise.

Methods: First, we learn point-by-point descriptors and encode location information to alleviate the limitations of descriptors in location perception.

Globally, traumatic injuries and severe hemorrhagic wounds resulting from natural disasters, wars, traffic accidents, and operation rooms, especially during birth, are among the most difficult humanitarian and economic problems. Thus, the priority in emergency medical treatment is reducing unexpected blood loss, which can significantly influence a patient's rescue and recovery speed. For the immediate cessation of bleeding in severe hemorrhagic wounds and to speed up their healing, environmentally friendly γ-ionizing irradiation technology was used to develop innovative natural-based hydrogels impregnated with traditional medicinal plant extracts (MPE) with proven hemostatic and bactericidal potential as potential dressings for hemostasis, infection control, and wound healing.

Exercise, despite being a beneficial activity for health, can also be a source of oxidative imbalance, which can lead to a decrease in performance. Furthermore, melatonin is an endogenous molecule that may counteract exercise-induced oxidative stress. The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential ergogenic and antioxidant capacity of melatonin administered for a maximal effort test.
