Background: Fulminant myocarditis (FM) is a potentially lethal disease with a wide spectrum of clinical presentation, thus making the diagnosis hard to depict. In cases where acute circulatory failure occurs venoarterial (VA) extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support is a valid management strategy, especially in the pediatric and adult patients. The management of anticoagulation and antiplatelet therapy in stage V chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing renal transplantation remains controversial. Some centers advocate for the use of reversal agents or procoagulants preoperatively, while others suggest that transplantation can proceed safely without halting these treatments. This study aims to evaluate the incidence of hemorrhagic and thrombotic complications in the first 72 hours post-transplant in patients receiving anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy compared to a control group without such treatments.

Background: We evaluated if the course of recovery from sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) can be predicted using variables collected at admission.
Methods: A total of 63 patients admitted for sepsis-induced AKI in our Mangalore ICU were evaluated and baseline demographic and clinical/laboratory parameters, including serum creatinine (SCr), base excess (BE), Plethysmographic Variability Index (PVI), Caval Index, R wave variability index (RVI), mean arterial pressure (MAP) and renal resistivity index (RI) using renal doppler and need for inotropes were assessed on admission. Patients were managed as per standard protocol.

Background: Rhabdomyolysis is frequently associated with acute kidney injury (AKI). Due to the nephrotoxic properties of myoglobin, its rapid removal is relevant. If kidney replacement therapy (KRT) is necessary for AKI, a procedure with effective myoglobin elimination should be preferred.

To investigate anticoagulation effects of nafamostat mesylate(NM) in sustained low-efficiency dialysis (SLED) and its relevant factors. Critically ill patients with kidney disease who were admitted to Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University and underwent SLED treatment from May to August 2024 were retrospectively included. Baseline clinical data were collected, and the activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and activated clotting time (ACT) were measured at the arterial end, before the filter, and at the venous end two hours post-NM anticoagulation treatment.
