Alzheimer's disease (AD) remains a leading cause of cognitive decline and mortality worldwide, characterized by neurodegeneration, synaptic deficiencies, and neuroinflammation. Despite advancements in early detection, diagnosis, and treatment, AD presents substantial challenges due to its complex pathology, heterogeneity, and the limited efficacy of current therapies. Consequently, there is a pressing need for novel therapeutic agents to target the multifaceted aspects of AD pathology, enhance current treatments, and minimize adverse effects.

Systemic inflammation and oxidative stress are fundamental contributors to the onset of conditions related to childhood obesity, such as cardiovascular (CV) diseases. We aimed to assess CV risk in childhood obesity by examining sex differences in adiposity indices, cardiometabolic profiles, inflammation, and oxidative stress biomarkers. We also aimed to assess the potential of the interferon-inducible T-cell alpha chemoattractant (I-TAC/CXCL11) as a novel biomarker.

Adipocytes secrete adipokines, bioactive molecules crucial for various physiological processes, such as enhancing insulin sensitivity, promoting wound healing, supporting hair growth, and exhibiting anti-aging effects on the skin. With the growing global demand for sustainable and alternative protein sources, insect-derived proteins, particularly from (mealworms), have gained attention due to their high nutritional value and functional bioactivities. This study aims to explore the potential of mealworm-derived protein hydrolysates as novel bioactive materials for promoting adipogenesis and improving adipokine expression, with applications in metabolic health and skin regeneration.

Hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the most common malignant tumors, and radiotherapy plays a pivotal role in its therapeutic regimen. However, radiotherapy resistance is the main cause of therapeutic failure in patients. Our previous study revealed that Adiponectin Receptor 1 (AdipoR1) is involved in regulating radiation resistance in liver cancer patients treated with stereotactic body radiotherapy.

The dipeptide Tyr-Pro, a novel natural agonist of adiponectin receptor 1 (AdipoR1), promotes glucose uptake in skeletal muscle cells. This study investigated the antidiabetic effect of orally administered Tyr-Pro in spontaneously diabetic Torii (SDT) rats. Oral administration of Tyr-Pro (1 mg/kg/day) improved glucose intolerance in SDT rats at 22 weeks of prediabetic age.
